When it comes to vax deniers, we have twice as many (or more) as UK, Germany, Australia, Japan etc. etc.

Our peer country on vax stuff is Russia. So my excited posts about how a good chunk of our country has become DumbForkistan are perhaps not so unjustified as you might think....

I always do. 7 or 8 people have died since vaccines were widely available in Gibralter. Went from 92-93 deaths pre-vaccine to 100.

That's my point: where do you think these people are going to get these therapeutics, if not the hospital?

They have to know they have Covid (how do they find that out?). They have to believe in Covid. Then they have to arrive at wherever you think they're going to get these therapeutics within the correct time window. Someone has to track their progress. And again...these folks have already signaled that they either don't have access to a doctor....or do not trust said doctor.

Do you not see the problem here?
Bart wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:34 pm I highly doubt that we as a country will vaccinate ourselves out of this mess.
I agree. That's the entire problem.
When will these individuals go see a Doctor? When they are sick.
Right. That's my point: HOW sick? Too sick for these new treatments to help?

You're assuming these are rational patients, Bart. IMHO, it's a mistake to assume we know how they will behave.

I was 1000% wrong in that when I thought the rubber met the road, that these free thinkers would quietly get the vaccine, and we'd be well north of 90% vaxx rate. Boy, was I wrong.
Bart wrote: Wed Dec 22, 2021 12:58 pm So while I may agree with you in some respect. I absolutely think the anti viral is a game changer if it continues to perform as it did during the trials.
I'd say that we need to remember that we're talking about tens of millions of Americans here. It ain't like we're just hoping to take care of a few stragglers......

We'll see. I hope you're right, and I'm wrong yet again.

I can say this.....if I'm Putin? I'm filling the internet with conspiracy theories about all new treatments. And no, i'm not kidding.

Which is why we HAD to discharge those who refused the shot. You can't have people serving that are psychologically inclined to buy nonsense that they read on social media, and choose THAT over things like the simple fact that all their leaders are vaccinated.

I'm beginning to think he's perhaps on to something and he is a vaccine scientist. Israel is already dispensing 4th doses to those 60+ and talking about a possible 5th dose later this year

I think my wife is on the tail end of it, can not find any testing places near by and all at home tests are sold out, no way we are waiting in 3 plus hours lines. She had fever for about 36 hours, chills/sweats one time for about an hour, no sore throat, and headache for about 3 days. Seems to have passed it on to me, all I have had is just a major congestion feeling but can breath just fine, no sore throat, and only had a headache for about 24 hours (more like a common cold).

Just curious if anyone here, or in your family has had similar symptoms and received results of a test?
Start of Day 5 - Woke up this morning with the fog lifted (yipee), just some lingering congestion...Aleve seemed to do wonders and I could certainly feel when it was getting close for another dose. Never a sore throat or chills/sweats, just a run down feeling, congestion, and really itchy/watery eyes, like an allergy. Congestion was at its worse last night.
Start of day 6 - Fog settled back in during day 5, still tired, lazy, congested off and on, but otherwise okay, made it much easier to justify watching all the bowl games...even squeezed in a couple movies. Woke up this morning congested, again...damn it, no other symptoms. All in all.....it is just a prolonged cold, assuming it is omicron, but trying to schedule a PCR or risk standing in a MD sponsored testing line, just seems futile at this point.
Still a bit congested each morning. Sadly, while watching a movie with a dram of bourbon, I could no longer smell or taste. :( Working backwards, I believe it started a day or so ago and I never connected the dots.
This song is fitting: "Little by Little....I can breath again".

Maybe Biden can give you and the rest of us the Heisman, again, for testing equipment as 1 of many failures....oh wait, my bad, he delegated that on to the states, because he forgot he told us he was going to "shut down the virus". "anyone not taking responsibility for that many deaths should not remain president in America". Sounds like Biden should resign, no? But wait, there's more, dislaxxic would rather shout from the rooftop that some lonely senator is a numbnut, for openly discussing faith. SLow day at the office for you too? ;) :P

J'Biden HAS shut down the virus, YA, among the non-brainwashed, science based members of our society. The Just Say No types follow the likes of Mitch McConnell, Ron Johnson, Ted Cruz, Kevin McCarthy, Jim Jordan and the rest of those delusionals, whose only aim in life is to hold on to office, and Own the Libs. J'Biden and the Dems at the very least ATTEMPT TO GOVERN, something that a country of our size and scope MUST have, governance. The Republican Party today has ZERO interest in governing. The fact that your party and it's "leaders" try, at every turn, to thwart such attempts at leadership, says all you need to know about the character of that party and those that support it.

At a time when the U.S. needed Covid-19 dialogue between scientists, Francis Collins moved to shut it down

This week, emails released through a Freedom of Information Act request filed by the American Institute for Economic Research revealed what I see as worrisome communication between Francis Collins, Anthony Fauci, and others within the National Institutes of Health in the fall of 2020. At issue was the Great Barrington Declaration, an open letter written in October 2020 and eventually signed by thousands of scientists. It argues that Covid-19 policy should focus on protecting the elderly and vulnerable, and largely re-open society and school for others.
