Re: D1 Men NCAA Tournament
but the point is that if you lived in Atlanta you know how retarded SEC football fans are about their schools even when they didn’t even attend there. I apologize for the misunderstanding on my end. However, I maintain that this is irrelevant to the conversation at hand. None these things have anyt...

Trying to not be whiny baby and have an adult conversation for that. If I gave you too much credit for your intellect, and more importantly emotional maturity then I accept that I made that mistake. But if you think I’m afraid of you when I just walked away from a car accident that cut the front of...

Re: D1 Men NCAA Tournament
There are Hopkins crazies and anti-Hopkins crazies on here that take both way too far. Not everything is about Hopkins.WOMBAT, Mod Emeritus wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 12:33 pm Anyone using this Fanlax forum and the Hopkins fans who are here as a Rosetta Stone to stereotype all Hopkins fans is starting from a false premise from the get go.

Re: D1 Men NCAA Tournament
Okay, I'm going to take a step back and ask you a serious question.
Why is this only about Hopkins? There is an issue here that is far bigger than any one school. Just because a Hopkins fan brought it up does not make it a Hopkins issue.

Re: D1 Men NCAA Tournament
Yes, we agree. I think we can leave it here. The Hopkins lacrosse team could cure cancer and some people would complain about that.
No school/team/program is perfect. No school/team/program is pure evil. Nothing is that black and white.

Edit: I see Hawkeye ran to find shelter in the Hop So you'd rather throw HopFan under the bus in a completely unrelated thread and not give him a chance to respond to that? That's pretty cool... gotta say it. I'm not looking for shelter anywhere. I think you should have said what you said in this t...

So when a rag with clowns that doesn’t even pretend to be agnostic is treated like historical and currently significant purveyors and distributors of true information (with exceptions, esp the NYT) in the reaction to an editorial error it’s reasonable to point out in description of my argument. And...

Re: THE Hopkins Lacrosse Fallout Shelter (44, we want more!)
IL I thought I would throw you a notification to go look at the recent posts in the tournament thread. Apparently we shouldn’t hold IL or any journalists to any kind of standard anymore. And apparently all Hopkins fans are entitled for someone thinking that we should. (Or maybe there’s a pro-Hopkin...

I guess. I mean I don’t see anyone else acting like that and I assure you there’s probably fans of at least 20 programs who could make the same mistake Yeah we clearly shouldn’t have journalistic standards anymore. I would say more, but I’d get into politics and that’s a no no. That you say other o...

Re: D1 Men NCAA Tournament
A fair number of us follow this closely. Read these threads in the days leading up to selection, and you'll find a bunch of people with no clue -- no shame in that, given the general opacity of the process -- but also at least a dozen posters with a really good grasp of each team's relevant numbers...

May just be a coincidence but their selections correspond directly to FanLax's Simplified RPI (last column). The level of correlation between selections (and even seeding/ordering of teams) and official RPI was also extremely high this year. http://www.laxbytes.com/2019/binmenstats/rpiing01.php

There was talk last year that Reeves got the award because he was a Senior and Spencer “had another year.” If Spencer doesn’t win, the award loses all credibility. He’s a generational player like the Gaits, Grant Jr. etc. Agreed. If they want to make it a career accomplishment award and typically g...

Last call for entries. I'm assuming that brackets don't lock until the first game on Saturday. We have 31 entries right now.

Re: Lacrosse Analytics
Let's assume that every team wins their opening round game. If you look at their projected title odds in that scenario and subtract their current odds, you get a list of the teams for whom a win would have the largest effect in terms of changing our perception of them. Even if Penn State wins their...
