Re: Roster Limits for lacrosse
In my time as a D2 coach, there would be kids that are DI or bust. If they didn't get their DI looks, they would rather go to an Ohio St. and hang out with buddies rather than playing competitive DII or DIII. This was the case with a lot Midwest kids. There were a couple that were offered athletic $...

Re: MAAC 2022
With the abbreviated past 2 seasons and not all rosters sorted, it's very hard to make any sort of predictions. It could be a year where 4 teams get first place votes in the coaches' preseason poll. Instead will just write some thoughts on each team. Manhattan - Had the best covid luck of 2021 and ...

Re: Coaching Carousel
Word is Tusculum cut all international scholarships. If that's true you just lost the ability to recruit Canadian kids, huge disadvantage in D2. Apparently they aren't the only school in the conference that has don't that recently too. Define International Scholarships? Like no more scholarships or...

Re: Way to Early Rankings
Haha!! I hear you. But lack of talent has never been the issue for them. I’m told they have a bunch of transfers coming in from juco and the portal. Lemoyne beat a very talented Adelphi squad twice last year. Given normal playoff conditions I believe they would have been more of a factor last year....

Re: Way to Early Rankings
I know Wingate beat LR (only one in 3 opportunities) but to have them #2 and LR #7 :o Tampa will be preseason top 5 But it is your top 10, so to each is own ;) I think LR will still be good. But they didn't just graduate Dickerson, they also graduated FOGO Bodeau and Close D Staley. 3 players who w...

Way to Early Rankings
1) LeMoyne 2) Wingate 3) Seton Hill 4) UIndy 5) Mercy 6) St. Anslem 7) Lenoir Rhyne 8) Tampa 9) Mercyhurst 10) Adelphi LeMoyne returns all the starters on their defense. Lose Hutchings, but return 1st Team AA McCreary and 4 of 6 starters on offense. Rumor has it, 2nd Team AA Carter Collins from Lind...

Re: Future Programs
I see the Mountain East starting men's lax. They already have 4 teams and (steal) bring in Mercyhurst and Seton Hill as affiliates to get to 6 to start with. Then the GMAC will need to work to get their own members to start a team, maybe start with the non-football schools. As I said, Mercyhurst an...

Looks like Thomas More University in KY is planning on leaving the NAIA to join the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Plan is for 22-23 Starting men's lacrosse for the 2022-2023 year. https://more.thomasmore.edu/?p=9954 Didn't they just move from NCAA DIII to NAIA, now they want to move to the NCA...

So DId I just see that Ric Beardsley is no longer coaching at CBA? Why did he leave? https://www.syracuse.com/highschoolsports/2021/05/cba-lacrosse-coach-ric-beardsley-resigns.html I saw he stepped down. Why? Any news since then? Just seems really weird doing it midseason. Same reasons other HS coa...

Davis and Elkins must not be doing so well financially. I have no idea how the coach will handle this.

Re: Limestone University 2021
If the Clarke to Tampa rumors are true, who does Limestone hire as their new skipper? An Alum Barrett? Ward? Gartelman? Wims? Poach an up and comer Cotter at Newberry? Perruzzi at Lewis? Kelley at Rockhurst? I think the smart hire would be to bring back Storrier. I felt that the Canadian pipeline ha...

@Chris_Jast Mercyhurst first team All-American attackman Caleb Kueber will do his fifth year at @DU_MLAX, per a source. The Victoria (B.C.) native led @hurstmlaxtrain with 56 goals and 88 total points in 2021, posting 49g/21a back in 2019. Not sure if a D-II all-American will be able to be a major ...

Re: Transfer Portal 2022
Wouldn't be surprised if Scanlan winds up on Maryland's eastern shore. There's a school and a coach there who'll take anybody to win, regardless of character. They've had success with outliers before. Seriously doubt any D1 program worth a grain a salt will tarnish their reputation by taking him. Y...

Re: Coaching Carousel
Heard Tampa is down to 5 finalists after zoom interviews A surprise D2 name who has won a national championship, and no one has brought him up. A rival SSC coach. A D2 coach who, in the last 5 years, has taken over a team and gotten them to the NCAA playoffs. A D3 coach who has had a lot of recent s...
