Re: Next Programs To Win National Titles For The First Time?
Is there anything preventing an alumnus or fan from offering $13 million (like the Florida QB lawsuit) in NIL to buy every returning all-american and top 5 recruit to enroll in one school? If so, it could be any random school regardless of current trajectory or momentum. Nothing preventing this. Bu...

Re: Next Programs To Win National Titles For The First Time?
I think the next one is a Loyola-type school. i.e. A school that no one saw coming. It just happened. (We can say the same for Yale but I believe that Yale's c'ship was a different animal.) Denver, Notre Dame, we saw it coming. Loyola, not so much. The question is, Who is the next Loyola? By definit...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
because everyone want to score... so, in a word, your answer is, egos. if you're right, that pains me. i can think of numerous great players who undeniably could score goals who were asked to play DM for the benefit of the team and they acquiesced and, not coincidentally, the teams thrived. in some...

... though I imagine that could be somewhat awkward at times. I think "at times" is the operant word. I think for many, maybe most, it's seen as just a player testing the market. (Though, admittedly, for many, it's a player who is done with their current program and they very much want a ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2025
This doesn't make sense to me. How hard can it be to find good athletes. In theory, it doesn't even need to be a lacrosse player.primitiveskills wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2024 6:15 pm Seems like everyone is in the SSDM market, Hopkins included. Great SSDMs are like gold in the current game.

So, the "forum" accepts the idea that a poster can post what he/she wants about a player or coach and that is ok... personal "attack" on them the admin will step in... Correct. This is a forum for discussions. Discussions about teams, players, coaches, sticks, helmets, etc. Ever...

Re: DIII TRANSFERS
Transfers used to be some kid from MD feels like he's not getting a fair shot at SU so he transfers to UMD. Which became a kid from LI plays for 3 years at BU, tears it up, and then transfers to UNC for his senior year to see if he can win a national c'ship. Today it's a far cry from these two scena...

Re: DIII TRANSFERS
Most certainly not... That's helpful. Thanks. I do have to say, watching JHU stay alive with a 5th year AA in goal (who happened to play at the same school that the current head coach used to coach at) felt a little strange. Similar, watching two Princeton transfers help SU a LOT. I dunno. All's fa...

Re: DIII TRANSFERS
Pre-Covid, correct me if I'm wrong, we didn't have the volume of transfers in NCAA lacrosse like we have now, right? It's like Zoom calls and transfers skyrocketed.

... Carter Rice was very very good this year... rice stood out and not because he's great but because he's a decent-sized body with good (not great) legs. Just struck me as strange. You need to throw an IMO in there because I certainly don't agree with that. Rice stood out because he's good and ver...

FanLax NCAA Press Passes/Credentials
I've thought about this numerous times over the years but, for whatever reason, haven't posted the idea. Why don't we have post-ers at games in the Press Box? We have threads for individual games. Why not have a post-er and/or post-ers at the game in the press box discussing the relevant game? Does ...

To bring this to life, it's not uncommon for us to get messages, e-mails from people saying, There's a post that isn't true! Re: QF #4 Syracuse vs #5 Denver Sunday @ noon
Two things I noticed yesterday about SU: 1- Spallina was frequently invisible. Seemed like he spent much of the game behind the cage backing up shots. Struck me as strange. Contrast that with Shellenberger and Millon taking turns grabbing the mic during the UVA game. Very different. 2- The SU d-mids...
