These two teams haven’t met in 11 years.

Syracuse owns head to head 4-0.

Last game was 2013, Syracuse won 9-8, scoring 5 goals in the fourth quarter. In semis of tournament. Duke won the championship 16-10 over Cuse. Held in Philadelphia.

I like Denver here. 'Cuse plays a little too sloppy and I think Denver's discipline and lack of errors allows them to pull it out

Same. Was impressed with how the Denver D handled the Michigan Offense.

Stathakis vs Kohn/Mullen will be a good match up.

+1

Though I’d note that Stathakis lost the FO % match this weekend 45% to Michigan’s 55%.

Good point.

Kohn also just went 5/15 last night (33%), with Mullen going 18/23 (78%). I assume Kohn will get the start, but having a solid back-up like Mullen helps. Stathakis is a strong kid, though. If he has Kohn's number early and goes against freshman Mullen a majority of the game- I like Denver's odds.

Weifeldt is in discussion of the best faceoff guys in the country, so I wouldnt read too much into that. That said, predicting FOGOs is a fool's errand. You just never know how the individuals match up.

After a really hot start, it seems like opponents caught on to Kohn a bit, but didn’t scout Mullen.

I went back over the last 6 games and he has been good in 4 of them. Ugly vs ND and Towson.. Both are quality guys.. I give Cuse the slight advantage, but that is only because Cuse has 2 solid options. IF Stathakis has an issue with one of the Cuse FOGOs, Denver doesnt appear to have another option to throw a curve ball at Cuse

Agreed. Stathakis is basically a one man show. Lair has been his backup but he’s only taken 14 faceoffs all season. Denver’s hurdle to using others has been the lack of blowout scores where Coach Brown could insert a backup more often.

Think this game comes down to pace and IQ.. I cant see Denver winning, if this game is an up and down affair. I also think Denver needs to take advantage of the almost guaranteed 5 minute span where Cuse inevitably seems to lose their mind. The other one is Will Mark. Once again he was wildly inconsistent. Terrible in the 1st half and I think like 8 saves in the second. I think Cuse is a top 4 team, but they have a bad habit of leaving the door open for teams. Can Denver capitalize?

Denver continues to play aggressively, and beats Syracuse 18-15.

My phone says 70 and cloudy here tomorrow at noon with the caveat that my phone has been known to say cloudy when it’s drizzling.

LOL.

Hard game to predict, as has every Cuse game this season. The only game where Cuse legitimately was shown the door early was the ACC tournament game versus Duke. That (night) game pivoted on Will Mark simply not seeing the ball. The ND game was sort of out of hand as well I guess, but Cuse showed grit clawing back.

Denver is a dangerous quad with some impressive wins in their record book this year. I just don't know enough about them.

Here we go.

Style of play favors Denver. Their defense is really good so far. Spallina isn't going to get much today dodging. Cuse needs their midfield to win this game.

Is it just me or is the white ball really hard to track on the broadcast?

LOL Quint saying "this isn't the game Spallina can take over, this is a more structured game"... Nice way of saying what we all already know..Spallina is a fraud who plays like MJ against inferior comp and disappears against competent teams. Dude is a slow, undersized overrated player.
