Wooster and the other merry band of undefeated-in-region Midwestern teams. But I think your generally right--pretty hard to squeeze out the runner up between W&L and Lynchburg. I don't know if they both make Pool C if, for example, HS snags the AQ.
I’ve been at this for a while. Those teams don’t have even close to the SOS to get an at large. Even if they’re 15-1 at the end of the year. You are right about if HSC ‘em gets the AQ. However I really see HSC struggling with Lynchburg. It will be hard to imagine that team would have enough offense to beat W&L and Lynchburg on back to back games like that.

This is good information.

With 10 Pool Cs and no pool B that would have W&L as potentially the last team in or out at this stage. The funnel gets real tight.

1. CNU
2. Salisbury
3. Amherst
4. Union
5. Middlebury
6. St. Lawrence
7. Bowdoin
8. Dickinson
9. W&L / Lynchburg
10. Muhlenberg

Obviously there are some teams that could play spoiler. I don’t think they’d give the NESCAC 5 teams, so if Wesleyan played their way in it’d likely mean another falls out. If Stevens were to lose their league that might through wrench in there. If Denison lost their league then they’d get an at-large. I think RPI is on the outside right now. If Ithaca made a run it’s going to strengthen W&Ls resume. York likely gets their AQ, but if they lose to Gettysburg, Denison, and lost the AQ to Stevenson they are probably out. If they beat Gettysburg and or Denison then lose the AQ they would bump someone out.

I know there’s big Lynchburg favoritism here. But the resumes of Lynchburg vs W&L for at at-large likely lean W&L at the moment despite the head to head. Lynchburg is likely to take another loss to CNU (a win changes that last statement). W&L has 2 wins better than Lynchburg’s best win. And Lynchburg’s best win just took a hit with W&L losing yesterday.

Tough loss for W&L. Can’t say it was goalie play….
LYN at HSC final game looms large.

The ODAC is currently looking like a one bid league, especially if Lynchburg runs the table and takes the AQ. The ODAC is currently 1-5 against the Centennial. The Mustang Classic could right the ship for Lynchburg, but where are the other quality OOC wins going to come from?
Spoken like somebody who has no idea what they’re talking about. Not a one bid league. Both Lynchburg and W&L will be tournament teams. I believe they are 1-4 vs the centennial with Roanoke being 0-3.
I said this almost 3 weeks ago and was told I didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe the ODAC gets 2 maybe not. if someone like Swarthmore or Ursinus jumps up and wins the Centennial tournament, definitely a possibility, and takes the AQ then what? CC gets 2 (hopefully)! The only ODAC team left would be the AQ which is Lynchburg right now. But this is why we play the games, should be a fun April.

Well yes if there are predicted AQ winners that lose their bid then yeah. But until that happens that’s a lot of hearsay. So yes, Ursinus, Kenyon, RPI etc. “could” do it. But D3 lacrosse doesn’t often get too much of that.

Looks like W&L is already in end-season form and losing close games to hsc

Any midseason predictions for All ODAC teams? POY/ROY/COY?? We've seen a few good games to find some guys there...

Best offense right now? LYN
Best defense right now? LYN? HSC?
Best goalie right now? LYN

Feel free to chime in, would love to hear thoughts...

5. HSC - They seemed to have put it back together last year but have lost it this year. We need to see them play more ODAC talent and Will Perry needs to prove that he's not the same chubby hothead he has been in years past.
This looks more comical with every passing day

The York and Denison wins are diminishing in value to the Generals

Too bad. ODAC needed that one. Guess neither W&L or Lynchburg can manage a 13-12 lead with under 30sec left.

Lynchburg loses to CNU in OT, tough loss. They had a chance at the end.

Alex Brendes now has three separate OT game-winners against LC in his career.

How is the York win diminishing in value. York might be a top 10 team after this weekend.

Lynchburg up 1 in regulation, turn the ball over on a clear with 39 seconds to play, CNU ties it with a second left to send it to OT

Lynchburg turns the ball over on an EMO with, again, 39 seconds to play, leading to CNU scoring man down with 9 seconds left in OT

That's a crushing way to lose a game.

Ouch..
That clear pass to wide open Grant Voight was just a bit high. Goalie out of cage.. would have iced it.
4.2 second on the end line.. geez just grab Cook and wrap up. 3 seconds restart would be outside box below GLE..
Game ball to goalie who spied that pass with LYN man UP in OT… they were 2-2 UP at that point.. was that a coaches call or instinct? Shellenburger field is a great setting..

Some unbelievable games lately..
CNU is beatable. The south in wide open with 6-8 teams who can make it to Memorial Day
Sal

York
LYN - need Dylan Wolfe’s stretch shooting back!
W&L
Denison?
HSC?
Stevens may be in bracket too..

Salisbury, Gettysburg, CNU, Tufts, RIT, maybe Amherst are the only teams that can make it to Memorial Day this year. There is no more north and south brackets so everyone is mixed.

What is the best way evaluate a team’s talent / ceiling?

A) Overall record / body of work?
B) How they are playing in April / Early May?

Both are obviously important, but I’m curious on what the different perspectives are when looking at a tournament team.

I think it is safe to say the favorites to reach the finals are the following

Good chance
Tufts
CNU
Salisbury
Amhearst

There is a gap to this next group. They all have a shot. All have played close games against the top group

RIT
gettysburgh
Lynchburg
York

For any other team to make the finals, they will need almost everything to bounce their way, and have opponents play one of their worst games
