I've seen only one speculative mention of a candidate to be their new DC and it was Corrigan, fils.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Break that list down (expand it to all frosh) and you will see that few top tier teams gave numerous frosh substantial playing time. Outside the breakout stars , most saw limited play if at all. Not like top 15 were trotting out many youngsters when players introduced. Dont find fewer number of JHU...

Re: UCONN lax 2021????
How does UMass and BYU do it? Or Sunbelt teams do it? They play a ton of "buy" games to supplement their revenue. As I said, there is little difference overall between running a DIA program and DIAA football program. It is why lots of teams have made the jump over the last decade. Scholar...

Re: Byrne: From Notre Dame to Harvard
Harvard's program is gaining a lot with this hire. Despite that, the loss for ND's program is much greater. I think there could be adverse effects on their culture from this.

Re: Coaching Carousel Pre-2020 Season
So what made them get religion? Probably many things, but I’m sure Yale’s recent success caught Harvard’s attention. As I have noted more than once, Harvard built a top-25-caliber engineering program in less than 10 years after decades of mediocrity. Once Harvard gets serious about something, they ...

Re: Tweak the College Rules
There are folks far more knowledgeable about FOs than I am who say the easiest way to stop the domination by folks like Ierlan and Baptiste is to ban the moto grip. They'll probably still win more FOs than most everyone else, but their pct won't be as astronomical as it is now.

Re: Columbia and UConn Men's Lacrosse
The posts were speculation, primarily driven by field usage. Columbia hosted the Ivy tournament even though it doesn't have a men's team and Fairfield hosted the NCAA playoffs at Rentschler Field which UConn rents from the state for football. There is nothing further that has emerged so far. Both sc...

Re: Tweak the College Rules
The ONLY rule change worth making (I am on the record as being a curmudgeon*) is the sticks. Fix the sticks and every single thing we ALL complain about goes away.... This is absolutely true. Do you think that, if the NCAA/NFHS/USL made offset and pinched sidewalls illegal, we would see legal chall...

Re: UCONN lax 2021????
Is the successful bid for NCAA lax quarters and '21 finals indicative of anything? Is the stadium independent of the school/state? I was at the quarters, I think Fairfield was the host. Either the stadium has no connection to UConn WRT ownership, or Fairfield, as host, is renting the stadium from U...

Re: Tweak the College Rules
My suggestions: 1. You only get 60 seconds on a shot clock reset. Starting this year in basketball, you will only get 20 seconds on the reset (the international rule) after an offensive rebound. 2. As someone said in another thread, eliminate the moto grip and you eliminate totally dominant FOGOs. P...

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
I think Thompson gets the first bite @ the Harvard apple. But if he passes I’d be worried about Kirwan. He was close to getting poached by Harvard for a 1st assistant position in 2016. A Tweet posted on the Syracusefan board yesterday said the candidates for the Harvard job (in no particular order)...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2020
Raising a point that goes with the second line of my sig. With the recent massive influx of Bloomberg money targeted for financial aid to students added to the fact that JHU is D-3 in everything else, could the M&W lacrosse programs also adopt the the Ivy/D-3 model for financial aid? Wouldn't th...

Re: VIRGINIA LACROSSE 2020
Anyone know the deal with Coach Kirwan? Is he looking to stick around another couple of years at UVA as OC, or is he ready to make a move to HC? Harvard position is open, and his name has been mentioned as a candidate. Stands to reason that at some point he'd want to be HC somewhere. No one seems t...

Re: Yale v UVa - should VA bother showing up?
Hope Lars brought some smelling salts for his boys, sure needs something to wake them up and get 'em moving a little bit. Better bring a whole lot more energy to the field than they did in the first half or it's going to be a long afternoon for them. Far from the most exciting semi finals lacrosse ...
