Re: Maximum Amount Of Coaches Allowed On A Division I Staff

The rule on limits was initiated for the '93 season. I do believe it was in reaction to the Hopkins sidelines. Nowadays most programs have the Director of Operations, which in some cases looks like another coach on paper. It also looks like there are now 3 full time assistants and I don't see volunt...

I'd add Cornellians Ryan Goldstein and Willem Firth as well.
Their roles will change as time goes forward.

Re: Cornell 2024

The geniuses behind the mikes finally finally figured out that Matt Tully is in goal. There is a subtle difference between #19 and #55. Meanwhile, Carc continues to love the sound of his voice. He actually said, "Cornell has one of the best fanbases if not one of the best fanbases." LOL! ...

Re: Best player in your schools history

On a quick scroll I don't see any picks for Cornell, so Eamon is my pick for both wooden and
plastic stick era. Didn't matter which stick he used, and he used both. Probably one of the last
greats to use a wooden stick and he didn't like giving it up.

Re: Michigan @ Rutgers On Friday Evening At 6:00 PM On ESPNU

Obviously, most people will be tuned into UNC-UVA at this time. But, the truth is, I think this contest has the potential to be just as, if not more, exciting: Michigan has looked much-improved this season, especially with their huge win at Maryland last weekend. In addition, while they now have be...

Re: Cornell 2023

Filling in some blanks: I believe #26 is Gary Malm one of the tri captains in '77. For JHU #7 in Michael O'Neil, guessing that 34 is Greenberg and 9 is DeSimone. Neiman's artistic license is exhibited as the stick lengths are not accurate and depicts more of a moving mural than an actual moment in ...

Re: Syracuse 2023

Dear JMA Wireless Dome announcer, Note the spelling here, Johns Hopkins, that's pronounced just the way it's spelled. Twice yesterday you announced that Mike Powell's #22 jersey is going to be retired on March 11th when Syracuse plays John Hopkins. You're not the announcer at a Bourne, Texas youth ...

Re: Cornell 2023

RIP Pat Moran, the only person that could chastise Coach and get away with it. I recall a few eye rolls at various banquets as Richie was telling his stories. So glad that Army head coach Alberici played Richie/Pat's grandson Ryan Sposito last fall in the game at Cornell to the delight of the two. ...

Re: Cornell 2023

Does anyone know when the last time was the Cornell didn't play Syracuse in a regular season game? Not counting COVID-year, obviously. Pretty shocking development... EDIT: nvm; looks like it was 1978, the year they lost to Hopkins in the final to end their 3-year winning streak. So they've played t...

Re: D1 lax history: Christian Swezey's new We Told Baltimore book (oldhead-certified)

Until the 1979 season, the Ivy League did not allow freshman to play varsity. Hence, the class of 1978 did not play varsity in 1975.
I think they would have made a big difference in the 1975 tournament for Cornell.

Re: D1 lax history: Christian Swezey's new We Told Baltimore book (oldhead-certified)

So, back to the book. Received mine this past week as well. Release said April, so I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived early. Only skimmed it so far, but can tell no one from Long Island proofed it, who was around in the 70's. It refers to Eamon's Jr. High as Stanford. A common error back the...
