But that doesn't make it not disappointing that someone who has professed to live by a creed of 'duty, honor, country' fails to do so, so egregiously.
I found it amusing that it was used to bolster Bill Taylor's credibility, then used to smear WP grads (& classmates) Esper & Pompeo when they verified why Esper & Milley made the call to withdraw 36 of their troops from an indefensible tactical position.

This is what I found in a quick search.
"I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo," Trump said, according to Sondland. "I want Zelenskiy to do the right thing." Is that the silver bullet you reference?

Re: IMPEACHMENT ... Constitutional method to vacate an election
Classic.
Knowing that his lies were about to become public, yesterday Sondland (following his counsel's advice) submits a "supplement" to his prior false testimony. The "supplement" says that the truthful testimony of Taylor and Morrison has now "refreshed his recollection." And what slipped Gordo's mind?
Oh yeah, I did tell the Ukes in person on September 1 that there was a quid pro quo on Biden/Burisma. Just a little thing. Don't know how I didn't recall that the first time I testified.
BAHAHAHAHA
P.S. Sondland doesn't have a law school degree, but said it would be “improper” for Giuliani to push the Ukes to investigate Biden. Asked if it was illegal, Sondland said: “I’m not a lawyer, but I assume so.” So what the heck is wrong with NSC's Morrison (GW Law grad), Ellis and Eisenberg (both Yale Law grads).

Youth -- can we talk about the bridge I have for sale?"I want nothing. I want no quid pro quo," Trump said, according to Sondland. "I want Zelenskiy to do the right thing." Is that the silver bullet you reference?
Sondland testified that was what Trump said on September 9. He didn't testify that he believed Trump. Which he didn't.
Since Sondland now grudgingly supplementally testifies that on September 1 Sondland told the Ukes that there was in fact a quid pro quo. By September 9, Trump knows his plan has blown up and is in damage control mode.
September 9 happens to be the day that ICIG Atkinson notifies House Intel Committee that a WB report has been made in mid-August, that Atkinson finds the WB report credible, but (contrary to law and precedent) that Acting DNI Maguire has failed to furnish the report to Congress. In other words, truck loads of shirt start hitting the fan that precise day. But Trump would have known about the WB report before then.

Where are the Republicans with the House transcript excerpts that clear their team? They promised if only we could see what they could see.

Re: IMPEACHMENT ... Constitutional method to vacate an election
NJ Bill -- Seems like in Sondland's case, the point was to snag the liars with subsequent truthful testimony (i.e. Taylor, Morrison).I actually think the Dems "attempt" to keep these depositions confidential is kinda silly. The stated reason is to prevent succeeding witnesses from knowing what prior witnesses said so they won't be able to line up their testimony.
End of the day, I doubt that any facts will cause 20 GOP Senators to ditch Trump. But it seems like Schiff and Pelosi are playing this extremely well. They're keeping things secret just long enough to get it all down on paper. And then making the paper public very swiftly. And all of that is happening in the face of total non-cooperation by the administration.

When Democrats pressed Volker on why Hunter Biden was invited to serve on the board of Burisma Holdings, Volker said he suspected Burisma was concerned about its reputation for corruption and was looking to "spruce up its image" by having "prominent-named people on the board."

Re: IMPEACHMENT ... Constitutional method to vacate an election
Seems like Trump is now down to maybe two lame defenses:
1. I didn't order the Code Red. All these people have testified there was a QPQ. But no one has testified Trump told them in so many words to do the QPQ. So like a mob boss, Trump does have a thin layer of deniability. It was all just a misunderstanding or it was all crazy Rudy's doing. Kind of like Reagan's Sgt. Schultz defense on Iran Contra. Problem, though, is the telcon transcript...
2. It isn't illegal or impeachable. I don't think I've heard anyone actually try to explain this. Probably because there's really no analysis or explanation here. Other than 90% of Republicans oppose impeachment.

Re: IMPEACHMENT ... Constitutional method to vacate an election
Occams razor agrees with this. Burisma at the time was looking for outside international investors, so it would make sense that they would want to show a friendlier face to the western world. Just like how Energy Secy Rick Perry was trying to get Naftogaz (another Uke energy company) to clean up its image by appointing several Americans as directors.Volker said he suspected Burisma was concerned about its reputation for corruption and was looking to "spruce up its image" by having "prominent-named people on the board."
But Burisma biffed it. If you are trying to clean up your corrupt image, you should instead appoint some anonymous but well credentialed guy from the U.S. energy industry. Quite dumb to way overpay for an unqualified director who has a big conflict of interest.
More likely stupid than nefarious.

Re: IMPEACHMENT ... Constitutional method to vacate an election
You think that Trumpland would admit that this testimony is correct, and there was a quid pro quo, ggait?
Go ahead and ask any of them here. The answer is a big, fat, nope-a-rooney. Trump can't have lied or done something bad. That's unpossible!

Biden goes in to clean out corruption in Ukraine.....and let's his wholly unqualified son sit on a board in said country? Ridiculous.
