Good news. Full stop.
Unfortunately, we're in this awful climate in which we're throwing bricks all the time.
I thought it was unseemly that folks around Obama (I don't recall him personally doing this) saying "Obama killed Bin Laden". Taking personal credit for something that at best should be said as a "we" or better yet, our military and intelligence community successfully removed Bin Laden. Give credit to others, not oneself.
It's been quite weird, downright gross in my book, this past week in the way Trump has talked about his individual role re ISIS and his dismissal of the sacrifices of others.
I write this prior to Trump's press conference this AM or any subsequent tweets, press gaggles, etc.
Did you see how Trump praised Russia, disparaged Democrats, and suggested this was more important than killing bin Laden?
Stop with the false equivalencies. Bricks are being thrown Trump’s way because he deserves to have bricks thrown his way. As a lifelong Republican, you should be embarrassed by this so-called president and your party’s role in putting him in power.

I think you are throwing your hatchet at the wrong guy here, Doc. MD is remarkably consistent in condemning this President while trying to retain his traditional conservative values and Old GOP principles.
I know that, but which Republicans allowed a bunch of MAGA loons put Trump in power?
If MD still belongs to the Republican Party, then he still shares responsibility for fixing the debacle that is Donald Trump.
After all, we Democrats didn’t let the leftist loons nominate Bernie Sanders.

Doc,
I certainly wish I had the power to have had, or now have, the 'responsibility' for Trump.
Unfortunately I have no more power than do you in that regard.
Listen, the problem, IMO, is that a whole bunch of Dems and I's who voted for Obama crossed over to vote for Trump, many IMO, for some really ugly reasons, others because of a rejection of the corporatist side of the Dem party, personified by HRC. Those who crossed for ugly reasons are going to stick with Trump, I am concerned about where others will land, much of which will be dependent upon who the Dems run against Trump.
R's like me supported candidates in the GOP primary who lost to Trump, IMO because the moderate end of the party was dispersed over a bunch of candidates and a bomb thrower (Trump) dominated the stage as unique. His 30-35% base consolidated, and no one else consolidated a greater cohort. I remained opposed to Trump in the general, though as a Marylander I had the luxury of voting third party as a protest vote as MD was safe for HRC.
Yes, Dems kept Bernie from being the candidate last time, but it sure looks like Warren may consolidate that wing of the Dems and the moderate wing will remain dispersed, with a relatively poor candidate (Biden) holding onto too many of such voters for someone else to emerge instead. So, the Dems are in real risk of having Warren be the standard bearer, and though I don't think she has much of HRC's other baggage, and she will be a far harder working candidate, her views/policies could easily lead to a win for Trump.
I'll vote for a piece of wood over Trump, but I think there will be many who look at Warren as a bridge too far.
