This is all a great example of the way the GOP has painted itself into a corner...except that the ramifications of this transformation are not nearly as benign and harmless as just a trite cliche.

Individual congresspersons may be "the same", by which i understand that establishment, entrenched elected officials tend to get clouded by their position and the need to chase funding 24/7/365...something that really does seem could be corrected if we could somehow, someway get campaign finance reform and other lobbying reform enacted...

But the GOP has veered into territory that is un-American and self destructive in the extreme...and many of us are hoping mightily that the country comes to its senses in the elections of 2020.
