The document's first three paragraphs:
This, from former (R) AND (D) Federal Prosecutors!We are former federal prosecutors. We served under both Republican and Democratic administrations at different levels of the federal system: as line attorneys, supervisors, special prosecutors, United States Attorneys, and senior officials at the Department of Justice. The offices in which we served were small, medium, and large; urban, suburban, and rural; and located in all parts of our country.
Each of us believes that the conduct of President Trump described in Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report would, in the case of any other person not covered by the Office of Legal Counsel policy against indicting a sitting President, result in multiple felony charges for obstruction of justice.
The Mueller report describes several acts that satisfy all of the elements for an obstruction charge: conduct that obstructed or attempted to obstruct the truth-finding process, as to which the evidence of corrupt intent and connection to pending proceedings is overwhelming. These include:
· The President’s efforts to fire Mueller and to falsify evidence about that effort;
· The President’s efforts to limit the scope of Mueller’s investigation to exclude his conduct; and
· The President’s efforts to prevent witnesses from cooperating with investigators probing him and his campaign.

Re: The Mueller Report and Impeachment
The funny part is going to be watching Republican voters criticize the next President with a little D by his or her name....and realize that nope, Trump did that..... and I not only didn't complain. I cheered.
The not so funny part is that I'm not really looking forward to seeing what happens to our country when we tell our leaders "anything goes, so long as I'm happy with your policies".
And of course, they feel this way without bothering to notice what their policies actually are.....

This morning, NPR had an interview with one of the signatories of the letter, a former member of Starr's investigative and prosecutorial team during the "Whitewater" and "Monica: investigations. When asked why he was doing this, he said for two reasons: because the public needs to understand that the President almost certainly would be charged for federal crimes were it not for the OLC Opinion, and because he wanted personally to be intellectually honest, believing every bit as much that President Trump was chargeable with crimes as President Clinton was. It's always buoying to know that there are Republicans out there in the world who aren't complete toadies to their party at the expense of the nation that profess to love.
Re: The Mueller Report and Impeachment
This is all a great example of the way the GOP has painted itself into a corner...except that the ramifications of this transformation are not nearly as benign and harmless as just a trite cliche.
Individual congresspersons may be "the same", by which i understand that establishment, entrenched elected officials tend to get clouded by their position and the need to chase funding 24/7/365...something that really does seem could be corrected if we could somehow, someway get campaign finance reform and other lobbying reform enacted...
But the GOP has veered into territory that is un-American and self destructive in the extreme...and many of us are hoping mightily that the country comes to its senses in the elections of 2020.
