At least 4 of these 12 midfielders don’t play midfield they play attack. Including 2 on the first team. Fiona McGowan isn’t even listed as a middie on UMass roster. Come on US Lax Magazine. The list isn’t bad other than that

An AA caliber player should be tearing it up against Ivy League talent. Are you seeing many of those types of players in the Ivy League?

The league took a huge step back developmentally due to COVID and in Rohr's case add injury to the mix. That there are any Ivy players on this list at all is an accomplishment, IMHO.

(Abby Bosco went from Penn to UMD in 2022 and managed to do quite well for herself. On the AA list again in 2023, congrats!)

Would not be surprised to see Penn win their opening NCAA match up vs. UCONN. Corbett is an excellent coach and this team looks like Penn of old to me.

Well, not everyone. I do notice that there are some ACC frosh listed over other players with Top 10 teams that have much, much better stats.

I would like to see “draw specialists” added to this list as its own category. The men’s game recognizes faceoff specialists. Draw specialists and fogo’s are not midfielders. A few of the listed midfielders are draw specialists at their school.

Boys had the exact same headwinds and it’s played out very differently. New to this but wondered if the gap between Ivy and non-Ivy was this wide in WLax 2010-2019. Ivy on the men's side has also had more success in recent years that they can point out to recruits. Brown made the Final Four in 2016. Yale won the title in 2018 and got back to the title game the next year. Cornell made the title game last year and Princeton made the Final Four. On the women's side, the last Ivy League team to make the Final Four was Penn in 2009. The last team to play in the title game was Penn in 2008. The last team to win a title was Princeton in 2003. We're only a few years away from the current crop of recruits not being born the last time an Ivy women's team even played in a Final Four.
