Knights beat four tournament teams this year,
and came close to beating a fifth.

Yes and? That could happen and lose to all ACC/BigTen/Ivy teams. Solid team this year and Brecht is a good coach. But the delusions and intransigence to facts , data, primary source information and pure speculations while trashing others to feel better is something. Others can describe but I have some adjectives.
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Re: Rutgers 2024
The teams Rutgers had to beat were in the Big Ten, and they lost 5 of 6. Even going 3-3 in the B1G would probably have landed them in the NCAA tournament.

You just don’t get it, we were screwed! It’s a frickin joke! Our RPI isn’t close to Yale’s, we have no top ten RPI wins, we are peaking at the right time with 5 losses out of our last six game, how could they not put us in the tournament?!Farfromgeneva wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 1:58 pmNo you don’t get it we’re all haters and jerks when we try to explain the system to certain folks. Point in time rankings before season end, selection process, basic balance sheet math, etc.

hah !
Time for someone to start up the Rutgers 2024 thread.

3-3 would have been a lock. Really they needed to likely win two more games, any two games, maybe even one depending on which team that was. Didn't happen though. No crying in lacrosse. If using laxnumbers.com - RU is higher than army, Delaware, utah, Richmond.
I’ll agree to disagree on brecht’s HS recruiting. Other than the kurdyla’s and knobloch, he hasn’t brought in many dynamic players that are game changers. We’ll see on the goalie from last years class - the 23 class doesn’t inspire me.
And for the love of god, how can he not get one of these NJ FOGO’s to stay home?! As a HS coach here in NJ, there’s TONS of great FOGOs here - none of them going to RU.

They got a top 30 middie coming in next year,
and a midfielder from Haverford - which you don’t normally see Haverfords heading to Rutgers.
Haverford upset unbeaten St Anthony’s this weekend.
I’m also looking at 2024 when another Kirst comes in with also a possibility of a certain 5th year Kirst joining his brother that year.

Re: Rutgers 2024
that top 30 middie is coming because he is a Legacy. Kirst is good but not a game changer and CJ will not have an extra year as he unenrolled from Cornell to preserve his eligibility at Cornell10stone5 wrote: ↑Mon May 08, 2023 10:04 pm They got a top 30 middie coming in next year,

Nothing wrong with legacies.
And also, the Haverford kid,
that’s not the usual pipeline for Rutgers.
They should target Malvern Prep also - any number of solid DIs in that pipeline - which Knights did for 2024.
Re: Rutgers 2024
No expectations,
just Brecht is looking in the right places, I see also a kid coming in from Western Reserve and another from Taft - two solid programs / teams from this year.
Carl Walrath was the Haverford grad I was surprised didn’t make the transition - part of that “national title” Haverford team.
Re: Rutgers 2024
Legacy or not, Kurdyla is day one starter material. He could have went to any school in the country.
I'd also keep an eye on Groff. He's going to fit in on the defensive side very well, very quickly.
It is my understanding that CJ Kirst preserved one year of eligibility at Cornell. He will have one year somewhere else should he want it, unlike a number of Ivy players who leave with two. It's too early to say what he would do with it. Everyone in the country will obviously want him, but as we all know, that brotherly bond is very strong with them.

He preserved his year so he could use it at Cornell, unlikely he transfers out.1766 wrote: ↑Tue May 09, 2023 11:59 am Legacy or not, Kurdyla is day one starter material. He could have went to any school in the country.

Congratulations to Ethan Rall for being named first team all American. He's going to be missed. What a pleasure watching him play during his time On the Banks. I suspect he's going to make a great professional.
Shane Knobloch and Noah Daniels with honors as well. Congrats to them too.

He could have went? RU grad?
I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade... And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party.
