The stalking of the judge who issued the warrant is as reprehensible as the protests at the homes of SCOTUS earlier this year.
I know there are nut-jobs out there, but can you not say you don't like the FBI without it turning into "you're going to insight shooters"?
Vigilantes and mob justice are BAD. Doesn't matter what side of the aisle you are on. But when people were talking about Hoover's tenure as head of the FBI, no one said it was going to cause violent attacks on FBI personnel or offices.
I thought everybody was on board with hating the IRS, the FBI, and Cable/Phone companies?
Is there NOTHING we can agree on anymore?

That would be WONDERFUL if that happened. It would great for the country, and best of all, best for working class GOP Voters.HooDat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 3:55 pmMy point is that I expect the GOP to migrate to a capitalist (and before you even start ... If your claim was REMOTELY true? The GOP would be nominating Bernie types that were running ideas like taxing small business and multinationals at the same rate. Oh, and free training for kids to learn how to weld, or be an electrician, or teach them in construction.
I just don't think that this is what's happening. They're choosing tinfoil hats and nonsense over common sense governing, imho.
On this I agree. Clinton was the last straw holding working class American's finances together. When Clinton chose free markets over mild protectionism and unions? That was it for the American working class.HooDat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 3:55 pm My further point is that Clinton out-maneuvered the GOP to curry favor with the ELITE. Yes, the GOP leadership of Cheney, Romney, McConnel et al are still trying to be that old GOP, but their voters have run to the Dems - who tell them they are saving the world while they actually rape it...
If this is where the GOP goes? I'd be a big supporter. I'm not seeing what you are seeing.HooDat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 3:55 pm The future of the GOP, if it is going to have one - is going to have to be a coalition of working class / small business folks that brings together Bernie, Tulsi, Yang and MAGA voters. They are also going to have to convince a lot of minority voters that the old wing of the party was the one that hated them, but there is room in this new GOP - I think they are already making headway in the Hispanic communities and are obviously recruiting as many black politicians as they can.
What I describe sure as heck ain't our granpa's GOP, but its the only sustainable strategy they have left. It will also represent an almost 180 degree shift in the parties over my lifetime.
Can you give me an example of a GOP candidate that's taking the path you are describing?

HooDat, do you have any story or data on the notion that Bernie people switched to Trump after the DNC put in the fix for HRC? I know a ton of Bernie folks (I'm in NH) and don't know a single one who voted for Trump. A couple sat it out; a couple voted for a third party; and the rest held their noses and voted for Clinton. Thanks.HooDat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 3:55 pmMy point is that I expect the GOP to migrate to a capitalist (and before you even start ... I know about 4 people who did so, they were young Bernie supporters all under 30. I don't think many (if any) voted for Trump (or Biden) in '20.jhu72 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 4:54 pm... Same here. My guess is they would all describe themselves as anarchists at this point. But like every Libertarian I have ever met - I am not sure they really understand what that means.... It is really just a situation where they are fed up with the way the system is working.

Remember just a few years ago when right wing delusionals accused President Obama of creating a "war on cops"?
https://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/ ... JpdVV5U9A7 IKBPRk6Ow17UNg80LEuHWB4SU
He was accused of actively calling for the death of police officers, that type of thing, all the while blaming police for the problems in this country has led directly to the climate that has made Dallas {July 7, 2016, Micah Xavier Johnson ambush of cops} possible.
Well let's see: right wing Republican Timothy McVeigh destroyed the Murrah Building killing 8 federal law enforcement agents and one local sheriff's deputy, tRump's attack on Washington DC killed 5 cops, Posse Comitatus member Gordon Kahl killed 2 US Marshals and an Arkansas sheriff in two shootouts, radical right winger Richard Poplawski killed 3 Pittsburgh cops, Steven Carrillo murdered a California sheriff and seriously injured 2 others was a member of Boogaloo Bois etc, etc.
Get the picture?
It is the far right anti-America right wing that attacks and kills more cops than anyone else.
Where are the howls of protest from the right wing - the ones who accuse Obama, BLM, or Antifa of these atrocities?
The principle hallmark of CONservative ideology: always blame liberals and Democrats for the criminal actions of the radical far right.
It has been proven a hundred times that the surest way to the heart of any man, black or white, honest or dishonest, is through justice and fairness.

Violence against the FBI was committed by a man present at the US Capitol on 1/6.
Trump caused this, too.

Setting aside that her platform contradicts itself (she's arguing for both more & less government at the same time, and lobs in "lower taxes" to boot), let's see how she does.HooDat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 5:15 pmWe will see how she behaves in Congress but here is an example that is on the conservative side of the profile I describe https://www.mayrafloresforcongress.com/about-mayra/.
For starters? She should explain how she arrived here legally. That's a story worth hearing.

If the blather on her twitter feed is any indication, she will likely disappoint you. All outrage over the "socialism," Democrats hate God and other jewels. But as you say, we will see. I am skeptical that, today, a new GOP congressperson can withstand the constant cajoling to be MAGA-stupid and largely policy free.HooDat wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 5:15 pmWe will see how she behaves in Congress but here is an example that is on the conservative side of the profile I describe https://www.mayrafloresforcongress.com/about-mayra/.

Temple Beth David has canceled its Beach Shabbat this week under a deluge of antisemitic threats about Bruce Reinhart, the judge who signed the Mar-a-Lago search warrant and sits on the synagogue's board.

Probably for the same reason your ANTIFA friends attack and burn down police stations in Portland? What else do you expect from ignorant people on the left and right. Wait.. my bad our FLP friends on this forum keep reminding me that ANTIFA folks don't represent FLP thinking.. even though they clearly represent the FLP ideology espoused on this forum every day.
I use to be a people person until people ruined that for me.
