No. I imply that those who WORK at grocery stores at the height of the pandemic aren''t 1%ers like you, Pete. And have no choice but to show up for work. And the TinFoilHat right wing propaganda tells them: shut up and work. This is all a hoax. A million Americans haven't died. Keep shoveling money into my pockets. Nothing to see here,
Peter Brown wrote: Fri Feb 04, 2022 12:35 pm Why is the left so bananas over the Hopkins report? And now Hanke is, what, a far right QAnon guy?! It’s a report. Read it. To me it describes Florida’s successful model.
 Like I said....you're all over it because it tells you what you want to hear. You didn't read a word of it.
Consistent with his usual reading comprehension...often wonder whether he bothers beyond whatever right wing feed sends him this stuff to re-post. Because if one bothered to actually read, and actually did graduate even from GatorU ;) , one would think comprehension would be better.

BTW, is Florida's mortality rate (deaths/million pop) better or worse than the mean of the USA, better or worse (by far) the mean of other developed countries around the world? Heck, all countries reporting?

Hard to understand how that's "successful" when so much of the US has a lower mortality rate, and how so much of the rest of the world has done better.
Your first paragraph is nothing but an attack on a posters mental capacity. Mocking their eduction, as worthless.

I view this as a personal attack, words that serve no purpose other than disparaging another poster, not commenting on the topic (covid )

Please knock it off, aren't you better than this ?

Makary is a pancreatic cancer surgeon. So while he's a doctor, he's not inside his expertise when it comes to Covid. He's gotten lots of criticism over the past two years:

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Makary has been an outspoken opponent of vaccine mandates, CDC policies, and restrictions at colleges and universities. He has been repeatedly criticized by infectious disease specialists for overstating the protection offered by previous COVID-19 infection and for making public health recommendations "beyond his area of expertise" that have been characterized as dubious and misleading.

Hanke is an economist. So even more out of his element. And he's a big time partisan.

TBD if their ideas hold up under scrutiny. Which isn't suppression or cancellation. Just honest discussion and debate.

Definitely not a coincidence that both seem to only show up inside the friendly confines of FNC. Where few critical questions will be asked.

I’ve never worn a mask except at the very beginning only at Publix. Kids here don’t wear masks. I don’t know how anyone can drive by a school and not feel awful for kids forced to wear masks. All of this talk of vaccines and mortality rates is just trying to keep the balloon afloat. The vaccines don't inoculate you and don't make you a non-spreader. Mortality is likely off by tens of percentage points, as many of these hospitalizations and deaths are "with" Covid instead of "from" Covid. The CDC Director, Dr. Walensky, admitted as much. As I have asked many times, "Cui bono?". Pharma, hospitals and politicians. Even the media likes the hysteria, as it leads to eyeballs and clicks.

Simple solution for ya: ban masks in Hospitals. You claim that you think they don't work (I don't believe you), great. Ask DeSantis to ban their use in hospitals and dentist offices.

Problem solved. They don't work, right? So why blow all that money, and fill up all those landfills if they don't work, right?

Where are you on handwashing, Pete? Should we get rid of those mandates in those restaurants you enjoy? Or hospitals?

Hospitals by their very definition are places where both viruses exist (sick people) and where people with immunocompromised conditions seek help. Of course employees should wear masks.

Schools are not hospitals. Workplaces are not hospitals. Restaurants are not hospitals. Christmas parties are not surgical centers.

The media has convinced too many of us that every American is a walking disease vector.
