If the scrimmage isn’t open to spectators, we would all appreciate any comments you hear from parents, sources, or any other means that you can find like Twitter for example
Scrimmage is closed to outside folks

Playing inside

I’ll get some feedback later in the day as will others I’m sure
Heard scrimmage was a disaster. List 19-7. Sloppy all around
Heard similar, except closer to a 3-5 goal game. Just know the D really struggled and both teams had trouble seeing the ball indoors

Concerning to read the defense struggled with all the experience they have coming back. Lost to a talented richmond team.

They have one more scrimmage next week before actual results come Feb 12th

From what I heard...good source

Game was more like 19-13

The big issues/struggles were on defense, at the face off x, and in net...so those were the issues/concerns...which is surprising to me

From a “positives” perspective:

The offense seemed to have a decent day...the veterans anyway... New guys struggled a bit

Couple names of note that played well:

Poitras...heard he’s playing well

Kamish had a good day...heard he went for 1G/1A and is working back to form. Again, this is huge news for us

Others I heard had production...Olmstead, Kevin Lindley, Higgins, James, Bateman

Gotta get back to work next week and get better next weekend

Not panicking yet...the areas we struggled the most today should be strengths

I heard the same about portrais Jamison and Bateman. But I heard attack put no points on the board. And we struggled with turnovers and penalties

I assume you meant Kamish...not sure who Jamison is 😜

The good thing is we scrimmage again next week v Cuse...and I heard the Cuse had a really bad day v Michigan yesterday. So next weeks scrimmage will be between two teams in need of huge improvements.

Not gonna panic right now. Way way early

I'm concerned because the talk of the team strengths are the offensive scoring and the experienced players on Defense. Both facets struggled against a good richmond team. Things have to start being more in sync before the regular season starts because in about a month time this team will have 4 very tough OOC games as results already.

Does anyone know what happened to Dylan Farley?

He was a late 2021 committ after decommitting from Harvard and was on the roster last time I checked.

Now I don’t see him

I heard he left for personal reasons. Nothing about the school or team. In fact I heard he was well liked. I hope he comes back.

Big test this weekend...

I will be interested to hear how the hounds do. I like that SU is the scrimmage before opening up with Maryland. Lets hope that we are getting dialed in and ready for season. SU will be more physical and athletic than Richmond.

we have a experienced team, we should not be making the mistakes we did at Richmond. Learn from the mistakes of last week and get ready to make a run.

Syracuse will be a nice test. But, Richmond is much more sound then Syracuse. They don’t turn it over like SU.

I’m guessing you’ll get less line tinkering this week, last weeks scrimmage showed some thing on both sides of the ball...get guys settled into their roles and let them work

Cuse had a rough scrimmage as well so this will be a good run to try and get some things buttoned up

Scrimmage could dictate some things on offense but my guess is MVA knows the guys he’s gonna count on and you need not look further than the most productive guys last year, guys that produce, are efficient, and protect the ball...if you’re sloppy with the ball and can’t score, you’re not playing.

I’m not panicked but really want to see the defense and specialists have a much better scrimmage than last week...has to be

Slightly different take here, but I'd argue there's no better wake-up call than getting torched at home in a scrimmage. It is a humbling experience that doesnt cost you anything in terms of your record, and it should give both the coaching staff and players countless things to address. If the players had been reading their own press (top-10 ranking, pre-season All Americans, picked to win the PL), they could have gotten over-confident. There is nothing wrong with coming down to Earth.

This is a great team. I can't wait to see them in College Park in 10 days. Go Hounds!

I know it’s fashionable to dis the Cuse this year, but do you actually think Richmond is better?

Separately in recruiting news

Staff picked up a 2023 recruit in brannick arbuckle. Close Defense guy

And they got their last 2022 recruit Matt Everson LSM out of Minnesota

Not gonna overreact to scrimmages. That holds true in both Loyola and Cuse.

Also won’t overreact to the Hounds first 2-3 games.

My guess is both Cuse and Loyola are gonna beat some people.

However losing Hiltz for Cuse does bring cause for concern.

As fans it’s going to be very difficult to not react strongly to the results of these games, especially with how profile they all are.

These are 3 legitimate chances to get quality wins and prep the team for the rest of the schedule. They’re going to have to find out who they are very very quickly.

I can take close losses if they happen but not blowouts
