"masks" - 95%
social distancing - 4.5%
wash your hands - 0.5%
take a half hour out of your time whenever and tally it up when hearing out the talking points we are consuming.

these are all sans vaxx, of course. vaxx is now firmly in the lead.

ironically, my gut instinct is that with covid fatigue taking greater hold, "masks" may be on the cusp of their greatest effectiveness.... people staying away, instead of congregating.

too tough to sort that out fo sho, and i don't have time for studies. we're in a pandemic.
I am wearing a mask when I can’t social distance until this Delta strain dies down. I take my advice from home. I have always been a better safe than sorry type of person. I am used to being inconvenienced.

... goes without saying, its part of being married.

It's Sturgis season again. Looks like a super super spreader is in the making. No masks, few vaccinations (likely) and the delta. Betting on the delta.

Murphy of New Jersey just pumped up my Florida real estate value a bit more.

New Jersey kids now being forced to go back to school in masks. As comical as the mask mandate is, since it’s really just woke virtue signaling, I do feel bad for honest to goodness taxpayers in that state,

Here’s a pro tip to New Jersey residents who will now be forced to fight hand to hand for the few spare u-hauls to move to Florida: stop voting for these leftist morons. If you vote for a sleazeball like murphy, expect your life to be negatively impacted.

And please don’t all move to Florida. Honest to goodness, we don’t have much more room.

Stay in New Jersey and fight the good fight.

As opposed to other types of taxpayers? Like the "free riders" that inhabit the "red states" and suck off the fed teat because they fail to govern themselves responsibly and make provision for certain public expenses?

I know. We have more guns here than virtually any other country on the planet, yet we have more crime. I see Mexico may be filing a lawsuit against US gun manufacturers….Hillary must be President down there.

Latest and greatest on Delta among vaccinated

Katelyn Jetelina
Aug 6

There was a ton of new science that came out this week re: vaccine and Delta. This is where we are right now…

Efficacy against mild and moderate disease is reduced

We have been trying to nail down the “real world” efficacy of mRNA vaccines against Delta. This has proven to be difficult to do. As I wrote before, we’ve been getting mixed signals from the UK (showing an efficacy rate of 88%) and Israel (showing an efficacy rate of 64% at first, and 39% now).

Yesterday, the UK (Imperial College) released results from their ongoing study called UK REACT-1. Every month this team analyzes how vaccines continue to work against the virus. The latest data is now out. From 24 June to 12 July 2021, 98,233 volunteers in the UK were tested for COVID19. Among these people, 527 tested positive; all were Delta. After asking vaccination status, vaccine effectiveness was calculated. Vaccine effectiveness was 49% for any positive (asymptomatic and symptomatic) and 59% for symptomatic disease. In other words, vaccinated people had a 59% reduced risk of getting symptomatic COVID19 compared to unvaccinated.

So, the Israel numbers and the UK numbers are slowly agreeing: Delta significantly reduces effectiveness against symptomatic disease. No wonder we keep seeing more and more breakthrough cases in the United States.

Importantly, though, the vaccines continue to hold up for severe disease and death. At this point, this is nothing short of a miracle. The vaccine is saving a ton of lives right now.

Viral load among vaccinated is the same as unvaccinated

This week three studies (here, here, and here) came out showing that vaccinated have the same viral load (i.e. infectiousness) as unvaccinated. This means vaccinated can spread the virus. This evidence slowly confirms the famous Massachusetts outbreak study which promoted the CDC to recommend masks again. One study (here) this week showed lower infectiousness among vaccinated, but not by much.

The figure is a box and whisker plot showing real-time RT-PCR cycle threshold values, by patient vaccination status, for 211 SARS-CoV-2 infections associated with large public gatherings in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, in July 2021.
…at least in the first six day.

Another study from Singapore this week confirmed that the viral load among vaccinated is the same among the unvaccinated. However, and importantly, it looks like this is only the case in the first six days. Then the vaccine kicks in and there’s a far faster decline in viral load than among the unvaccinated (see graph). So, at first the vaccinated are as infectious as unvaccinated, but quickly differentiates over time. Vaccinated seem to not be infectious after 9 days (Ct=30) compared to unvaccinated at 16 days.

Bottom line: This confirms the higher rate of breakthrough cases than we anticipated. But the breakthrough cases continue to be far more mild than unvaccinated cases. Vaccinated also seem to carry the virus. So, wear those masks and remain vigilant. Especially if you have unvaccinated or vulnerable family at home.

For do-it- yourself covid therapeutics, I have a bunch of past shelf life Heartguard (Ivermectin) , for monthly canine heartworm preventative.
The spongy, beefy tasting morsels are a no hesitancy favorite with my pack. Probably safer than fish tank HCQ.

Okay disregarding the easy jokes one is tempted to make about the jokers running Baltimore city, mask mandates should give anyone a clear window into the mind hive of Democrats. A typical modern Democrat today wants to either be told what to do, or they want to do the telling. They are almost constitutionally incapable of minding their own business. I really think this is the difference between the two parties. Masks cleanly reveal the divide.

Like I said, I got the vaccine, and as opposed to what MDLax would desperately want the ignorant to believe, getting the vaccine in Florida was easier than hooking up with Paris Hilton. I signed up on a state portal and had an appointment within two weeks, and that was early on.

BUT, I don’t care if YOU have the vaccine, or not. It doesn’t concern me in the least. I understand the reluctance to get one, especially if you are pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant. There are legitimate reasons to distrust the cdc and FDA, given the rushed process behind this vaccine. So if you say no, I get it, and in a trillion years I would not say anything to you if you stated that you were unvaccinated,

The Left on the other hand assumes they know everything about everyone (remind you of anyone here?! ), and so feel a superior mob mindset to attack those with legitimate objections to the vaccines. Look at how woke totalitarian TLD is on this lacrosse website, and of course the clapping seals behind him.

Today it’s the vaccine, tomorrow it will be something else. As ever, the only totalitarian fascists in our midst are on the Left…be wary of giving them an inch.

Also, keep an eye on housing values and people moving. People aren’t dumb. They go where life is most free, and frankly most successful. For every conversation on this board, pay close attention to the numbers where people vote with their feet. That is common sense. Don’t mindlessly clap to the partisan preachers here or anywhere. The thing leftists here at Fanlax try to sell is not any different than magical potions of yesterday…it’s all bs. Meanwhile, my real estate in Florida keeps appreciating far faster than anywhere else in the country. You should pause and try to reflect why that’s the case.

He’s also a politician, elected to an office he is merely a caretaker of until he gets voted out. He oversees a state overwhelmed with mindless government employees. If he chose common sense over the mob demand there, he’d be run out of town in one night.

I feel for the guy. The fever of the left to become mob oriented and totalitarian is at a pitch now where I’m not sure the patient can be saved. Maryland survives today only because of federal government largesse.

It’s an awful state to start a private business.

https://marylandreporter.com/2021/07/20 ... -business/

Just remember about government: it only survives by the grace of private business. When you chase private business out of the state as they do now (hurting, incidentally, the poor and blacks the most), eventually you go past a tipping point and become what the left seemingly wants: a socialist hellscape.
