First thought is his longtime associate head coach Kim Hillier. If not her perhaps his former top lieutenant, Caitlin Defliese.

or does delfiese stay on with him? She knows the team. And something tells me they won’t be totally on board with him

Defliese named interim head coach. Interesting to see who takes up the job officially.

What about Kathy Taylor moving back to the Syracuse area from Colgate?
McCabe has been at Adelphi for seven years with 3 National Championships.

I don't see Kathy Taylor making that move. She just got to Colgate.
He certainly would seem to be qualified.

6-28 over the past three years. I imagine they decided to move on. Had a good amount of success with Scott Teeter in his final 5-6 years with that program.

Think the Canadian connection dried up a bit after Teeter left for Kentucky?

Tough to say. It was a pretty quick drop off after he left. That would seem to indicate some sort of purge of the roster more than a recruiting issue. Did he take any of their roster to Louisville with him? Or did he take some of his commits with him?

If he does, his name will be mud in Pittsburgh.

Agreed. But it has to be enticing. Given they even asked him

Why would his name become mud? Regy’s a great guy — nothing unfair about leaving an assistant position to become a head coach, leaving PA to return upstate.

That's a good point, EasyRider. I hadn't realized he was only an assistant at Pitt under Emily Boissonneault. Thanks for the clarification.

(Great movie, by the way. I've seen it dozens of times.)

Does Gary have a say in the hire? Then I would say Thorpe is a no.

I'd bet the next HC at Cuse is female.
Oh, and I think "interim coach" is insulting.
Am I in or not, your coach or a pawn?

Holy crap yes. It’s like “yes thanks for coaching “ but “we are looking for someone better”. I feel
Bad for the team tbh
