You can forget whatever you want. It's an internet comment board. No one's making you postFarfromgeneva wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 11:58 pmThen I said forget it but you won’t let me. Completely consistent and logical but whatever.
Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
I think Army/Rutgers/Loyola are fighting for 1 AL bid presuming Loyola loses the PL tomorrow. Honestly no idea who gets it. And if Loyola wins it's between Army and Rutgers. No idea who gets that. But those are the final 3 IMO. Cuse and Denver are safeMatnum PI wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 11:59 pm Is this right?

Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
Of course no champion thinks how we do on here; that's why they play and we're not. We're supposed to BS and look ahead and do all the things coaches tell players not to do. We're not players we're fansFarfromgeneva wrote: ↑Sat May 08, 2021 11:53 pm Look on a dozen threads and it’s been happening for a month or longer. Nothing I’m doing is whining it’s a counterpoint to a lot of BS.
I can’t think of any champion in any sport who would’ve thought the way folks are here. It’s put your head down and get it down regardless of circumstance.
Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
If Rutgers isn't in, who from my list is? Who has their spot? Villanova?

AL:
UNC
Duke

UVA
Cuse
Denver
So you have 6 AL spots wrapped up. Army, Rutgers, LOY/Lehigh loser are fighting for those 2 spots. 2 of them will get it. I'm not sure which 2 it'll be.

Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
Cuse is not getting in over Rutgers
Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
Can't see Delaware in the mix. They don't have the wins Army or Loyola do and they have been ranked by Rutgers in the Coaches Poll all year long. Good team, but the CAA was a 1 bid league.
Villanova was in the mix and the Lehigh W if Lehigh loses to Loyola makes it interesting but they had 5 chances to beat Denver or Georgetown and lost....all of them. I think that's the death knell for them. A Georgetown win and they very well may have been in though. Also good team.
If you think Rutgers gets a bid, then one of Army and Lehigh/Loyola loser are getting left out. Take your pick. I really don't know.
Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
They're going too. Not saying it's the right decision or you gotta love it; but the 2 Virginia wins are just so much more than anything else Rugers has that it'll be enough. Also, no bad losses on their resume in terms of who they lost too (how they lost obviously a different ?.)
Cuse and Rutgers might both get in; but Rutgers ain't getting in over Cuse

ACC5 is getting in over B1G2. Especially when ACC5 loses by 164 goals to 3 teams.

Yes, yes they are. RU doesn't have a win over a team with a winning record, SU has two top 5 wins, end of discussion.

Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
Why are you assuming the committee won’t look at how bad many of those cuse losses were? The opponent obviously matters but so does the competitiveness of the game. At least I think it should.jrn19 wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 12:19 amThey're going too. Because the committee has said in the past and has this for years that MoV or in this case margin of defeat doesn't matter. Just the win or the loss.NYterp09 wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 12:26 amWhy are you assuming the committee won’t look at how bad many of those cuse losses were? Right but that’s because they could rely on traditional metrics like RPI...they can’t do that this year so how can they not factor in the eye test?jrn19 wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 12:30 amBecause the committee has said in the past and has this for years that MoV or in this case margin of defeat doesn't matter. Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
Even if they do; Cuse still has 2 wins Rutgers doesn't. So you're weighing the 2 wins vs bad losses. Wins probably gonna win out in that caseNYterp09 wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 12:32 amRight but that’s because they could rely on traditional metrics like RPI...they can’t do that this year so how can they not factor in the eye test?jrn19 wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 12:30 amBecause the committee has said in the past and has this for years that MoV or in this case margin of defeat doesn't matter. Right I’m just not sure that two wins (over the same team) should outweigh four embarrassing, blowout lossesjrn19 wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 12:35 amEven if they do; Cuse still has 2 wins Rutgers doesn't. Re: 2021 NCAA Tournament
Yep, it all depends. This aint the basketball selection committee with literally thousands of intersecting data points to analyze. Most people who simply watched the lacrosse games this season would say Syracuse does not deserve a bid. They sucked and/or just gave up in a third of their games. But maybe their 2 wins over UVA override that.NYterp09 wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 12:38 amRight I’m just not sure that two wins (over the same team) should outweigh four embarrassing, blowout lossesjrn19 wrote: ↑Sun May 09, 2021 12:35 amEven if they do; Cuse still has 2 wins Rutgers doesn't. Who knows if Rutgers is even the main competition against Syracuse for the bid? Rutgers is a good team. They probably would not beat UVA twice this year, but they also wouldn't quit playing like Syracuse did...TBD
