Nasty Natasha Bertrand just refuses to give up on her collusion conspiracy theory :

Ken Dilanian & Chuck Rosenberg don't share her enthusiasm.
Flynn & Gates have co-operated fully with Mueller. Manafort, partially.
Bannon, McFarland & others co-operated sufficiently that they were not charged with anything.
With all those key insiders cooperating, there should be enough reliable testimony for Team Mueller to connect all the dots of circumstantial evidence, if there was actually a conspiracy.
The Russians obviously probed every member of the Trump campaign with whom they had a connection.
There's still no evidence that they connected enough to have an impact on the election, or that it was reciprocated in a coordinated conspiracy.

He is nearly everything my parents tried (sometimes in vain, ok) to teach me and my brothers and sisters not to be. As a person, his vanity, sarcasm, lack of curiosity, faux and divisive "populism" and sense of entitlement is just too much to get past.tech37 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 8:42 am I recommend you look beneath C&S's folksy delivery...there's a lot of truth to what he's saying.

Sure, sure...but you left out the "hate factor." For someone who espouses such high principles/ideals, it baffles me how you also harbor so much hate for the POTUS.
As stated before, until you "resistance" peops stop hating, you'll never see things objectively/clearly.
I can try to silo him into "the Presidency" and put aside his boorish qualities as a man. And here too, I see a bully pulpit used for division; the rollback of laws and regulations aimed at keeping water safe and toxin free this is just not true. Please prove it. ; alienation of our allies; What is an allie? Someone we sell killing machines too, or just trade with? silly and so far counterproductive trade warring; a tax cut and borrow scheme that has no basis in sound economics, aimed only at providing a benefit to a 1% which, hope against hope will allow something to trickle down, etc. So, why did Bush and OBAMA do the same thing ? He is not using the many levers of the Presidency for good, as far as I can see, and certainly has done little to nothing to help so-called middle class families. First evah pentagon audit pretty good. Prison reform good, no? Jobs? His Presidency has been spent campaigning for reelection and in an effort to thread the electoral college needle in 2020, by keeping his core constituency revved and rabid.
It's just sad. And, not parenthetically, predictable in a man with his basic character. And as DMac might say, hard to trust a guy without a dog.

Vladislav Surkov: Putin’s Long State
Foreign politicians ascribe to Russia interference in elections and referendums across the globe. In fact, the matter is even more serious - Russia interferes in their brains, and they do not know what to do with their own altered consciousness. Since, after the failed 90s, our country abandoned ideological loans, began to produce meanings and switched to the information counteroffensive to the West, European and American experts began to err in their forecasts more and more often. They are surprised and enraged by the paranormal preferences of the electorate. Confused, they announced the invasion of populism. You can say so, if there are no words.

Works for me.
My point is, the hate and despising is blinding. For instance, look no further than the reaction of certain members on this board (seacoaster included) to the "bombshell" Buzzfeed scoop that, fortunately, was discredited by the Mueller team. If I recall correctly, a link was quickly posted to that tantalizing revelation for all righteous "resistance" fighters to drool over. So, two years in and there's still no "direct" evidence of "collusion" (whatever that means). IMO, Mueller's report (whenever that materializes) or what the public is allowed to see of it, is sure to disappoint the "resistance" nation. I think C&S certainly has that right.

No, it isn't. Bias doesn't blind, and you are really talking about bias. You can still follow a critical path. Seriously, read Michael Lewis's book, The Fifth Risk. Go to the public library. It'll take you two days to read it. The notion that this President and his "administration" knows what they are doing and are helping the future of this country is just nonsense. And that is separate from, but related to, the President's character as a human.

Sure stupid stuff happened no doubt but "amateur hour" not criminal. I'm livid that so much time and effort on the part of so many is spent attempting to delegitimize a duly elected POTUS, especially when the alternative would have been far worse. This story out of Russia has the potential to be a game changer moving forward. Back in LP days, this was my prediction on the outcome (that no one in our country was going to found guilty of collusion / meddling in the election and Putin would end up the being the bad guy; wasted two+ years and a minor win for Russia). Putin may very well have shown his cards in this article and is doubling down on our main stream media and political never Trumpers inability to wait for facts, those believing Trump is Russian influenced have currently fallen for Putin's mind coup.laxman3221 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 13, 2019 9:23 pmYep, they all yell Russian collusion and believed in the pee dossier. So what does this mean....the story in our media and political never trumpers has to now change. Will those never trumpers and media types acknowledge they got duped by Russia, nope? And what does that mean...IMO, it means Putin wins again, why? because it is no simpler than the fable Henry Penny and "the sky is falling". Couple that with all the mud already thrown at Trump by those same people, to which nothing has stuck, Trump comes out clean....whether we like him or not.
These next two years will be interesting, and quite frankly, Trump controls the cards on our pulse even more so, so long as he cleans up his act and leads in a more refreshing professional way. This immigration bill has the potential to really show a collaborative effort of unity that can calm and settle the waters. Will he do that, I hope so....but not holding my breath.
Heading off to work, have a great day everyone.
