Re: Lindenwood to drop Lacrosse
No arguing your comments about endowment, but Lindenwood is also a school with little to no debt. When my son was recruited in 2016 I believe they told us they were one of four nationwide with “no debt”. It’s amazing to me their D1 decision was so shortsighted that they didn’t have a plan or commitm...

Lindenwood to drop Lacrosse
https://lindenwoodlions.com/news/2023/12/1/general-athletic-department-special-announcement.aspx This was just announced about two hours ago. Eighteen months after elevating all sports to Div. I, they make the announcement to drop ten sports. Ridiculous!! My two cents: First, a wimpy move to announ...

Re: NCAC 2023
Good point Six. Unfortunately you see that all too often. INMHO it's usually the officials' way of sending a message that says, "Don't even think about arguing. We all agree!" Officials are so worried about appearing confused or indecisive, that they'll stick together no matter the correct...

DAWG, were you mistreated as a child or something? You seem to carry around a lot of angst.

Re: Coaching Carousel D3 2022
Sometimes they'll get caught off-guard with a late departure and have to trust that the assistant can run fall ball, but mostly what River Donkey said.

Re: Coaching Carousal
Young Harris has hired Coach Beard, most recently the top assistant for AFC Richmond in the English Premier League. I met Coach Beard back when he was the defensive coordinator at Wichita State, and he always seemed like a good guy. Not sure if he's really got that HC mentality (always seemed like a...

Re: NCAC 2022
No doubt it will be a nice facility. Hopefully they learn from places like DePauw, and find a way to avoid putting 5-6 sets of lines on the field. I still laugh at Lake Forest, who resumed their program with a brand new facility that ... (wait for it) ... shares the field with their softball team. W...

Don't you usually wait for the school to make an announcement first?

Re: Transfer Portal
I'm really surprised there isn't more D3 to D3 movement. I'm not sure how many D3 schools have masters programs. but I know there are several. I'll use McDaniel as an example just because I know that school, but with 2 COVID years available there's a place that should've been recruiting college seni...

I have a hard time seeing how that would make any sense, but if anyone's close to the situation, I'm all ears.

Re: Coaching Carousel D3 2022
Well, it will be his fourth job in 14 months, so either he's really good at interviewing, or Hiram just didn't want to pay any moving expenses. Looking at this and Wooster together, it seems like both schools are okay with where they've been. Wooster's hire is right in line with their philosophy, an...

"there might be a few more that weren't starters that will not be returning. have verified this already. They all liked the party life better and Goucher is NOT a party school. Drugs and Drinks > Lacrosse for some." laxdad - I'm gonna side with Laxcode on this one. I kinda see this as tal...

Re: Coaching Carousel D3 2022
At a lot of schools, this is just a standard part of the hiring process. It gives the players a feeling of being included and listened to, but rarely do they have much sway over the process. Once a hire is made, it can really help the good feelings (if that's what they are) to spread among the roste...

Re: Coaching Carousel D3 2022
Benedictine in Chicago is an interesting one - a decent school, but in a league that will always play second fiddle to the CCIW. With the exception of some outstanding years in volleyball and softball, there's always been a sense of "midpack-ness" about Benedictine; however, it may be the ...

Re: Tampa
Congrats to Tampa, but I have to wonder ... What ever happened to Tumbleweedlax? Last year he came on this site (with the exuberance of a 12 year old) proclaiming that Tampa was the best ever, would go undefeated and probably win three straight championships. He got laughed out of the room then, but...
