Re: Salisbury 2024

Well, I'm going to do my best to not sound like a grouchy old man when it comes to a 16-6 win vs. Geneseo, but the Gulls looked rough in that 2nd half... Tale of the tape: Offensively - Salisbury scores in the first 18 seconds of the game and runs out to a 12-3 lead at the half. - Jude (3,2) and Bro...

Re: Salisbury 2024

First, I want to make sure I acknowledge both Blackmon, and Facciponti. I failed to acknowledge they earned All-American honors last year when writing my little preview. it was an honest oversight. Those 2 can flat-out play. As for the game... Nothing against York, but that was the worst first 4 min...

Re: Salisbury 2024

Salisbury vs. York What I'm looking for... Last year's score, 14-10 Salisbury Facciponti (54%) vs. Malamphy (67%) - faceoffs - Graduate student and returning MAC Commonwealth Specialist of the Year vs. another Malamphy at Salisbury (Blake Malamphy). - Facciponti is operating at an astonishing 63% fo...

Re: Mustang Classic 24

Certainly have heard my fair share of rumblings regarding these 2 over the years. Whether it's been bus issues, traffic/accidents on the Bay bridge delaying start times, weather, etc. This little "rivalry" has it all. With all that being said, I’m not sure if the inflatables, fireworks, or...

Re: CNU 2024

Well, I'll certainly say, that I didn't expect that outcome... I had thought maybe Jumbos by 4, but not 8. Also, those who tuned in can tell you that the 8-goal differential was more like a double-digit loss given the flow of the game (a few late goals by CNU) and substitutions. What stood out to me...

Re: Salisbury 2024

2009 comes to mind when the Gulls lost 4 games, 2 of those losses came to Stevenson. While it was never back-to-back losses to Stevenson, all 3 games were almost within a 30-day span. Oh back in the good ole days of the CAC....

Re: Salisbury 2024

It was 15-2 going in to the 4th quarter. I can't imagine it has been a fun week for the Salisbury backups, after letting Grove City score 9 in the last 15 minutes. Gotta cut teeth at some point. If they score 30 we hear they’re “running the score up,” if they don’t play the bench it’s “those guys s...

my mistake, his name got lost in between Blake Epstein's pair of goals at 8:11 and 5:12.

Re: Salisbury 2024

Big thank you to whoever manned the booth and provided the live stream. Regardless of the quality of lack of announcers, it was great to see the Gulls despite being a neutral site, this early in the season. Below are a few of my takeaways. Attack: -Strub (4,0) has taken the next step and looks poise...

Not sure if this was mentioned, but it looks like the spring roster has been released https://suseagulls.com/sports/mens-lacrosse/roster/2024 Attack: You can't replace Cross, but at least you don't have to attempt to replace Cross and Jude... Re: 2024 Schedules

The Mustang Classic is one of the best events to happen in Lacrosse. I'm disappointed that Salisbury doesn't play in this event. Anyone have any idea why? Its a shame that the division 1 teams cant come up with a similar tournament. I will give the Stevenson staff kudos for always putting on a firs...

Re: ~Salisbury 2023~

Great additions…any info on incoming ‘23 class? What will roster size be as Gulls look to defend title The same as always 45-60. I remember asking Brandon Dawson's mom (West Chester East HS Product, Salisbury AA LSM circa 2004) about the fall and spring try out process and subsequent roster size. S...

Re: ~Salisbury 2023~

Some potential context on how they ended up here (outside of whatever reason they are transferring) Jake McCarthy (fogo Merrimack) - graduated from The Haverford School - Brendan Dawson connection Reagan McNemar (grad transfer from Towson) - Mom and Dad are both graduates from SU. Brother is at Spal...

Re: Most Painful Loss You Have Witnessed Involving Your Favorite Program?

Far and away 2006 Salisbury's loss to Cortland. But this may have fueled the 2007-2008 undefeated teams. On the flip side, some moments going the other way that brought happiness to me and no doubt crushed others. 2016 and 2017 Salisbury wins over Denison. Nosey Ned was spot on in his assessment, t...

Re: ~Salisbury 2023~

First off, congrats to the guys! Heck of a season and saved their best performance for when it mattered the most. I was able to chat with some of my former teammates before the game and while we were confident, we knew Tufts was no slouch and that many who never wore the maroon and gold were countin...

Re: 2023 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket

I think this past weekend showed that Salisbury will not win it all. Amherst fogo comes in to win 81%???? That strategy against tufts will have u lose by 10 Salisbury runs 3 different fogos. I don’t think you can compare one game and claim a team has no chance Agree. Not to mention if we are really...

Re: ~Salisbury 2023~

Would someone please give us an update on the Gulls. From scanning some internet games they seem to be getting better as a team . To be expected from Berkman. Better heads up passing and cutting off picks and posts. Defense has also gotten better totally unexpected with the absence of Big Ben Sandl...

Re: ~Salisbury 2023~

I'll chime in. I knew someone who was there and can tell you that Coach Berkman wasn't exactly thrilled with the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Despite the score being lopsided at the end of regulation, the Gulls didn't look great. At one point, it was 10-6 in the 3rd quarter. Even with all this talent, the ...
