2021 Spontaneous/Miscellaneous Game Threads

Florida at Louisville on ACCN — espn+

This looks like the first professional broadcast so far this year. These are the regular announcers for Louisville home games. The camera crew is experienced, there’s a shot clock in the score banner, decent field mics and good replays.

This Notre Dame team is scary. Aldave injured in the first half (not sure how badly) and Howe currently in a tight faceguard and it's not slowing their draw unit or attack down much. Ahern and Choma hit the ground running last year and now have an added poise and maturity to their play. Defense has made mistakes but has developed quite a bit throughout the game. Roe is one of the best defenders in the country. Vandy has put up a good fight and looks like they're continuing to build.

No offense ....but it’s Vanderbilt.

Schettig doesn’t show up in the box score today. Wondering why. Anyone know? (And don’t any of you wags say it was because she didn’t play.) :)

True. But, keep in mind, Vandy beat #10 Denver last Spring.
What does say about Denver? Rated WAY too high?

I'm not saying Vandy is particularly going to make noise this season. They competed with ND well for about the third quarter of the game and other than that ND was way too much for them. BUT I do think Coach Hewitt is leading them in a good direction. They could beat Temple and Cinci this year to finish second in the conference behind Florida, which is progress.

Wondered the same thing about Schettig...

watched the replay of the play involving Aldave a few times, hope she is not seriously hurt. Did anyone know what foul was called - was it a charge or a defender foul? Looked liked it could have gone either way but I thought it was a charge on Aldave as she lowered her shoulder.

You might be able to figure it out from the post game stat sheet here:

Aldave had 0 turnovers listed so it wasn't a charge as she would have been "credited" with a turnover.

It was a defensive foul, #55 replaced Andie and scored on the free possession shot.

2 for Kennedy. She’s a powerhouse early. A lot of the offense goes through and originates with her.

Heels make wolves pay for that sloppy tentative pass — tie the score at two with quick strike goal
