Good to hear the scrimmage played out as expected. We also hammered UMBC in this game last year easily by 15-17 goals so the expectation was to do the same this year IMO
Appreciate the updates for those of us that could not be there…
Minicus is a known commodity (and great player) so he will be a leader on this team…I like the idea of McCullough and Haberman settling into their natural positions at attack with the departure of James and Poitras at those two attack spots. Those two are potentially really nice players but they’re attackman, not midfielders, so they now can play where they fit physically and skill wise…I expect big things from those two…
Sounds like we have some good options at midfield and some potential depth…didn’t hear many comments on Turner? I felt like he should have played more last year on the line with Kamish and Heuston…late in the year I felt like those three were our best options out of the box…but last year is over…only looking forward…
West, McGory, Turner…all big, good sized midfielders which you want…Dixon…what about Murphy? Was he in the rotation? Sounds like we have options…good options
To me, the biggest thing will still be winning face offs and getting the offense more possessions…when you go +50% at FO, even 45%, your chances go up exponentially to win games…not rocket science…such a big part of the overall equation…
I think we will be fine defensively and sounds like we have a good handle on the backend…good goalie options…Reynolds is a leader…I expect a really strong year from Remi.
Sounds like all in all we did what was expected on Friday night…lots of time left to get better and tighten up the playing group before we hit real games vs big time teams in Feb. I know we brought in like 15+ new players so it will be fun to see how it all comes together.
Cheers and Go Hounds!!
