Many coaches jump around. The interesting thing with Doherty is some of her assistants aren’t going for better jobs. Some of them are getting the heck away and going sideways or in some cases, backwards.

Someone mentioned it before that Lazo has been with Delaware for six years. Why jump to Penn State now? Could Missy be leaving shortly and they are going with an alumn with a great reputation?

Only thing that I can think of is with her boss interviewing for pretty much every open HC job, she realized she'd likely be moving soon anyway.

Altig has not been interviewing for open HCs. Lazo has always wanted to go back to Penn St and Delaware has already found her replacement for OC

GVSU (D2) HC MacKenzie Lawler steps down and takes the Associate HC role at Florida State.

This is a great addition to the team—they coached together at Central Michigan and GVSU has grown into a stronger national contender under the now departing coach.

Thanks for posting this. I saw the GVSU job posted and was wondering. She has always impressed me. Her teams always play hard.

Pretty surprised they haven’t gone out and grabbed an assistant that has some kind of name recognition.

They have one single assistant coach running the program, and she didn’t get an interim HC title when Ricky “resigned.” Seems like a mess created by the administration. I was hopefully they would bring in a Myers or Tucker type coach for a year or longer to right the ship.

Yes. They ultimately turned down the FSU job. Rumor was they heard Georgetown might be opening soon and wanted to wait. Their current players, AD, staff, and husband don’t even know about the move. Only the family dog.
