I bet you never watched many episodes of COPS? Those road patrol cops on that show had a long standing tradition for being equal opportunity a-holes to quite a few of the people they pulled over. Black, white, red, yellow or rainbow flag. I learned a long time ago to keep my mouth shut anytime a cop pulled me over Yes sir and no sir or yes mam and no mam wouldn't get you out of a ticket necessarily. Screaming at the cop and demanding they tell you why they pulled you over will give the cop a negative attitude about you from the get go. What might have gotten you off with a warning can wind up with an extensive and thorough examination if you and your car.

I stand by that, may even be a little low. Think the margin for error in that job should be infinitesimal (below 3% to start), so even 5-8% is highly problematic in my view. Seems like to a degree the adverse selection, like the future of football and the military, not to mention boxing, is pushing that up. We will see.
