Why do they always seem so unprepared for the 10-man ride?

Williams is looking good at least

Epstein got a run out of the box

-epstein can't move. what is the purpose of this?
-williams showed up this week, where's the rest of the offense.
-clearing 101. time to ace it or lose this one badly.

They do on occasion (coaches do too, actually), but it's mostly for entertainment purposes, and perhaps a bit of morbid curiosity.

Weather at game time will be high 40s—chance to hit 50—and sunny. About as good as you can hope for mid February. Hope some of you will be in attendance. Should be a decent crowd, especially with the Navy-Maryland came now postponed.
Looking forward to seeing the first test for UNC. I am wondering if their top middie is back. Enjoy the game. Good lacrosse weekend!
I hope it is a test for UNC. Last year was a battle and I was proud of the grit the Jays showed then, but this year they are minus Foley and Epstein while UNC has added Chris Gray, whom I believe capable of surprising those who contend that ACC defenses will bring his gaudy numbers back to earth.
Well, maybe an ACC defense can slow him down, but not the Jays so far.

Degnon has been the revelation of this season.

up
-cole, degnon, angelus-congrats to the kid, prouty.

down
-lyne/forry/zinn-dumb penalties lead to 2 goals, clearing, prouty is playing 1 on 3 in faceoffs.

Our defense in unsettled situations is BAD.

Failed clears and penalties really hurting the Blue Jays.

Got to change things up on Gray.

Quint says Baskin has electric feet. I say he’s got bricks for hands. Could he have bobbled the ball more out there?

At the half, Williams was the leading JHU contributor.

It's the (headhunting) penalties that are the difference in the game

Aggressive defense.

Why does every team seem to have it while Hopkins doesn’t?

North Carolina’s defenders are constantly on the hands of the Hopkins shooters. It’s pretty clear the Blue Jays don’t see such aggression in practice.

Pretty bad first half, aside from Kyle Prouty no one played well. Williams had 2 nice goals then disappeared. They spent a lot of time in the offseason talking about mental makeup and the 2 time captain gets himself a half w a penalty, no points and no gbs. connor disimone in year 3 has no points.

Underrated aspect of lacrosse: the ability to pick the ball up off the ground. Our guys are struggling. Several huge possession swings on GBs that should have been picked up easily.

Joey is clearly not 100% but he looks okay out there to me. Unlucky not to have a goal and an assist already in very limited time. I'd slowly ramp up his usage

On the ESPN3 feed, I heard that Carolina went 4-5 on EMO, bringing their percentage down this year.

up to 5 of 6....still plenty of time as Hopkins keeps making dumb penalties.
