Pump the brakes. Toner left to become a head coach. His replacement, based on the fact that he is no longer with the program, wasn't the right fit.
Tambroni does not have a reputation for running off assistant coaches.
Toner did ‘leave’ to become a head coach. Tone ‘was left,’ there was no announcement, and then he got the Gettysburg job.
There’s the implication of your prior statement and the literal text. Nobody cares about the literal text as it has no real value. The implication made is wrong so no point in fighting to be right.
I like Penn State, and I hope they right the ship from two disappointing covid years. I don't think the eleven-year coordination left to be a head coach. I think he left (we can debate/speculate circumstances), then became a head coach. My original point was curious: if they don't get it back on track this year or next, will the admins start looking at him?
That’s a penn state thread issue. Was discussed as nauseam earlier this year
Sorry, pal. Seemed like a coaching carousel question too.
With an angle by defending the Toner leaving as if he didn’t go somewhere by choice. I don’t think you’re sorry and pal sounds subversive in this context. But I guess you’re neutral like Switzerland right? Totally agnostic on this topic?

Yeah, I don't really have a dog in this fight in that I don't "have an axe to grind" and think Tambonini be sent packing, nor do I think Penn State "did Toner dirty" and cut his legs out from under him.

That said, I just never got the sense, from what I heard or what I saw, that Toner left because he got the Gettysburg job. That is not trying to disrespect him. I think he is a good coach, I think he has done a good job, and I think he will do a good job again. I also think Tambronini is a good coach and I think he made the choices that he thinks are best for his program.

Sorry if I sounded subversive, friend.

Ok. Guess that’s the general challenge with text vs verbal communication. I read “pal” and it makes me think of a dude with a few drinks in hand in either Belmar or Sleaside Heights who’s begging to get punched in the face and wake up in a gutter. But that’s my mistake in reading the text that way.

Does seem like Gettysburg is too good of a program of to have decided to hire Toner if he was fired from his last gig.

I think Manhattan should promote Associate Head Coach Odierna ASAP.

He has been a major part of the Jaspers's improved recruiting using his strong ties to Long Island.

Where does Brodersen go? Does he stay? I’m surprised he didn’t get it - although Brad Ross is a good hire.

Coach Benson’s Assistants at Providence?

So, who are the leading candidates to join Coach Benson at Providence as OC and DC? Does he go with some former Hopkins players, or in a different direction?

They worked together, so one would hope (for Brodersen's sake) that they are close if he wants to stick around.

Wonder if he brings in at least one person who has more of a New England/Northeast background and connections for recruiting purposes. I know Benson has been at "national" programs, but his background is all Maryland/DC area.
