Duke looks past Virginia Tech at their own peril here. Duke should win pretty handily, but the game is in Blacksburg and Duke is the heavy favorite--a perfect recipe for an upset. I think it will be close but it won't be the first or last time I've guessed wrong on the outcome of a game. Anyway--Go Hokies. I'd love to see an upset here just to shake things up a bit, maybe galvanize Duke for the stretch run.
Well, the officiating sure suits VTech's style here....

Watching the VT game, I'm not sure that Duke is a tier 2 or 3 team.

They are in the "Tier 2 Waiting Room" in my draft of tiers

If they didn't have jenner winning 10 of 12 they would be losing. I think this may apply to the team going forward. Win 50% of draws and a good team should be able to beat Duke

Duke seems to be finding the range. 12-8 1:08 left in 3rd. T.O. VT

If…. Kind of like if Rosenzweig doesn’t win 5 DC’s SU wins by more than one. All parts of a team

Sorry, was that directed at me because of loyola? I was just making a comment about duke and their draw percentage. If they didnt win 80 percent of the draws they wouldnt win as many games...pretty simple concept
You didnt need to make it personal

A win's a win. Duke clamped down at the end when Tech had pulled to within one. Jenner won the game ending draw with almost ridiculous ease. Kimmel called a perfect timeout, then Duke played keepaway and burned the rest of the clock. Ugly win because they fell asleep at the end and almost let it slip away but recovered just in time. Jenner is an awfully big (yes--obvious pun intended) advantage on the draw. Now for two real tests for the Harvard of the South--vs BC and at Carolina before the ACC tournament begins.

Personal? Didn’t know I mentioned you or your kid. It’s not like someone said loyola…a team everyone loves to hate and I said …..I’m in.
Jenner is part of a team. Her 80% win tonight helped her team win. Much like on the mens side several face off specialists help their teams win the national championships. Part of a team.

Sorry, missed this. I meant allowing the play to be rough, sometimes failing to call pretty clear fouls.

I find this to be the case with more and more games. Maybe the powers that be with feedback from the coaches and players are allowing more rough stuff by design. I don't know.

I thought, in the end, the officiating was OK in this game.
No fan of Duke, but I was impressed with the effort and, at times, the ball movement that helped figure out how to get open looks in front of the cage. But then they'd go away from what was working and VTech slowly worked back into the game, a little reminiscent of the Syracuse game. I'd like to see Duke play SBU.
