At game's end Duke looking like a play-in team. A heavyweight team beating up on a team of tech nerds. Irish must have had the ball 75% of the time during the second half. Duke hot and cold during games all year long

Duke is the 2nd best team in the country now. They would destroy any Ivy team right now (not March, now). UVA should be top 6 too. Hopefully the committee doesn't screw up the tournament by overseeding Ivies. Let 'em all in, but don't screw up the seeding. It will be like the Big Ten of march madness.
Will Duke get in if they lose to ND?

I think Keno was joking.

Duke’s out.
I wasn't joking at the time I pressed submit. It was 12-7 and they were dominating like they had for the past 6 weeks. It's funny, but now my opinion after that meltdown is that Duke's usual early season sins should keep them out of the tournament even though I still think Duke would destroy any Ivy team. I mean come on, watching Brown last night was a joke, Duke is better than them at every position and they'd beat the Bears by 12.

Funny because I recall some dead serious comments end of last reg season of people claiming Hop was better than a bunch of playoff teams and would be in the final four if they were in the tourney (which you obviously don’t get at 4-9)
Yep, I was one of them. Do you think your takes have been 100% correct, Vladimir?

I think three of the five Ivies would have an absolute field day with Duke, Cornell would be 50-50, and yes, Brown would probably lose (goalie notwithstanding). Duke is a talented but undisciplined team that has relied on strong specialists (particularly their goalie) in many of their wins.

The Ivies are generally very disciplined, with good talent sprinkled in. Guys like Brandau, Slusher, Brown, Handley, Piatelli, Kirst, and Adler could start for any team in the nation. Most of the best goalies are on Ivy teams as well.

Agree with Wheels… Duke does not look like a well-coached team.

Maybe the future is Chemotti and not Matt Danowski? Could that be what ends up making Dano leave? I always felt like Urick wanted to set his son up to take over and that was a portion of his problem at GT at the end.

And ND's resume hangs on 2 wins over Duke. How much of ND's resurgence is really due to just playing mediocre ACC teams? Sorry, but "only losing to Maryland by 2 goals" shouldn't be enough to get into the tournament.

Looks like a couple of teams will be screaming bloody-murder when they don't get invited to the dance. Villanova can make it a real sh*tshow with an unexpected win over Georgetown.

But seriously, all of the talk about Notre Dame playing lights out has coincided with a schedule over the last 6 games that had 2x Syracuse, UNC, Marquette, and 2x Duke...the team you noted as having really bad losses. OSU is going to have serious gripes when they get left out.

Syracuse doesn't have anywhere close to the talent of Duke or UNC. They didn't cover themselves in glory for sure, but Duke easily has Final 4 talent. They still might get there, but that'd be even more of an indictment of how poorly they played in the regular season.

What's Duke's offense, exactly? Stand around, wait for O'Neill to do something, wait for Montgomery to realize he's the best athlete on the field by multiple orders of magnitude?

Their inability to clear in the 2nd half was like watching a U12 team.

That failed clear where Adler had no where to go, and ended up dumping in ten yards from his open goal, was inexcusable. Where was his outlet? Certainly not visible onscreen.

At a minimum, Gillman the damn thing and let your attack fight it out at the other end of the field instead of having possession after possession starting on your end of the field!
