You may already know this but technically, teams. 9 through 14 aren't (necessarily) seeded relative to merit. They move them around at will based on matchups and travel distances.MoralTerpitude wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 8:12 pm It’s interesting that UVa was essentially “seeded” 11th by Stevens. I was thinking that if there’s any rigging going on in the selection process, it will have to do with ensuring certain match ups won’t happen too early. So UVa would have to be seeded either 6th, 7th, or playing one of those seeds in the first round (i.e. the 10th or 11th “seeds”). This would ensure that they wouldn’t play Maryland until the finals.
As a fan I like this thought process. But it could lead to some teams getting screwed seeding wise, though (especially if UVa is given the 6th or 7th seed, which they haven’t earned).

Re: 2022 D1 Selection Committe
with more losses, not as good wins, and a lower rpi? sure, if that happens your tosu is in would be correct!
Re: 2022 D1 Selection Committe
ND can pass OSU in RPI with a win. That's what happens (ND #11, OSU #12) without factoring in other remaining games.

Wow, BU is up to 11? What would BU’s RPI be if Army beats them? Looks like a potential bid steal.
Also, if ND wins, what would their RPI number be, and what would OSU’s?

thanks, cu. do penn, yale and rutgers move up or down in a vacuum with a loss? only if you enjoy putting in the effort.CU77 wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 11:12 pm RPI top 20 through games of Friday May 6:

Re: 2022 D1 Selection Committe
army has a good record, so it's at least possible bu holds up some, but their margin down to 12 is very thin.MoralTerpitude wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 9:29 am Wow, BU is up to 11? What would BU’s RPI be if Army beats them? Looks like a potential bid steal.

nd based on what cu posted earlier might be around .6011.
my guess a bu loss drops them too much to stay above tosu. but 77 can answer if he has time.

Re: 2022 D1 Selection Committe
We know RPI is the framework used. So there’s that...
And while my opinion means nothing, if two teams are close in RPI, head to head should absolutely matter. Again if things are very tight
If two teams are close, and resumes are close...it’s not that hard...you ask “did they play?” If the answer is yes...then you look at who won.
Again that’s if the data is close

Duke is the 2nd best team in the country now. They would destroy any Ivy team right now (not March, now). UVA should be top 6 too. Hopefully the committee doesn't screw up the tournament by overseeding Ivies. Let 'em all in, but don't screw up the seeding. It will be like the Big Ten of march madness.

Tough to say. If the committee goes straight RPI, then yes. But if they take into account quality wins vs bad losses, my guess would be no.joewillie78 wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 2:03 pmWill Duke get in if they lose to ND?keno in reno wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 1:29 pmDuke is the 2nd best team in the country now. Duke makes alot of bad decisions in unsettled situations, and they’ve left a very good outside shooter open on two possessions in a row.

Funny because I recall some dead serious comments end of last reg season of people claiming Hop was better than a bunch of playoff teams and would be in the final four if they were in the tourney (which you obviously don’t get at 4-9)10stone5 wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 2:05 pmI think Keno was joking.joewillie78 wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 2:03 pmWill Duke get in if they lose to ND?keno in reno wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 1:29 pmDuke is the 2nd best team in the country now. So, yeah, Dano is a hall of fame coach; but is there a worse coached team than this Duke team? It's criminal how they've underperformed relative to their talent. Zero excuses.
