Rutgers played 1st line midfield 90% of the game against Princeton and you could tell they were exhausted and not productive in the 2nd half. Princeton had a SSDM on an attackmen and were not able to exploit that match up which is scary.

Ross Scott crossed a big milestone. 100 goals scored puts him in an elite class of lacrosse player. Kudos to him for such an accomplishment.

Shane Knobloch has to be close to 100 as well. I would guess he's within 10-15. Very impressive for a midfielder. Best two-handed shooter I have ever seen at midfield.

Good guess - hes at 85. Hitting 100 as a middie is a huge milestone for sure. As a terp alum, I think Anthony DeMaio did it, but even some of the other recent great middies (Kyle Long, Bryan Cole, etc.) weren't anywhere near as close. Even Jon Donville, who was fantastic, ended up with 82 career goals. So hitting 100...wow.

I wouldn't argue that. He's playing a lot of two way midfield now as well. He's an all around great midfielder who helps in the clearing game too. I'd say he was a throw back but to your point, his shooting ability really separates him from some of the other great midfielders we've seen in the college ranks. The crazy part is he showed up day 1 with that ability. He must have put in a lot of good work at a really young age.

In terms of just pure shooting DeMaio was special. He may not have had two hands like Knobloch but he was lights out. As an opponent, I hated to see him get his hands free with some room. You just knew it was going to be goal.

Without digging, do you know how many Terps have reached this level? At Rutgers, Ross Scott was only the 11th person to do it.

Looks like Maltz was the 18th Terp to do so. What's kind of nuts is Rambo had 155 to be in third place. First and second place are Wisnauskas and Bernhardt...both with over 200 goals each (205/202). Crazy to see that kind of jump.

Wow, those are some really impressive numbers. I didn't realize they had that kind of production. Scoring 100 goals is an incredible milestone to reach. Scoring 200 is other worldly.

Congratulations to Shane Knobloch on being voted as a First Team AA. He's had one helluva a career at Rutgers. What a fun to player to watch.

Time to turn the page to 25.

Not nearly as much action for grad transfers as there had been but a few are being courted. Landing the Princeton SSDM is a position of need. Hearing some scuttlebutt about a potential player being added who would be an impact player Day 1.

The Big Ten appears to be fairly wide open in 25. Lots of teams losing a fair amount. I think you can say that for college as a whole with the super seniors coming to a virtual end.

Per Ty Xanders:

@RUmlax midfielder Jack Aimone has entered the portal as a grad transfer, according to multiple sources. Aimone ran on the Scarlet Knights' top line in the past two seasons, scoring 20 goals as a senior and 25g/7a the previous year.

He will be a good pick up for someone.

A lot happening behind the scenes. Expect to hear some transfers in soon.

Not sure how he has eligibility left as he played in games all four years, does this mean that he is going to go the D# route to get his extra year?

He only played in one game as a freshman which would mean he would have been eligible to take that year as a redshirt but you have to apply for that, you can’t retroactively go back and get a redshirt year for a year where you just rode the bench. Not sure if the redshirted him that year or not. I have seen other mentions of this in these boards but I am having a hard time believing a player who was D1 in 2021 game get an extra year next year by transferring to D3, which granted a second COVID year to players for that year. Surely you must have had to be enrolled at a D3 school in 2021 to qualify for that.

if you don't play in ANY spring contests, scrimmages or games, you retain an eligibility year (5 years to play 4), and you don't have to apply for it.

if you step on the field, the only way to get that year back is if you have a documented season ending injury, or hardship. you don't have to apply for it then or that year, you can apply for it later if you have the documentation.

this guy, if he gets this year back... listed as 1 shot, 1 game, late in the season? he was either injured early on, they tried to get him on after "healthy enough", but the injury was still there/reinjured, or.....
it's a mistake. and frankly, it looks more like a mistake. very weird that a coach would burn a rookie's year to give him spot duty in one game late in the year.

Congratulations to Shane Knobloch for winning the Maclaughlin Award as the nations top midfielder. He's going to be fun to watch in the professional ranks.
