I won’t disagree! Especially since the city and surrounding area is usually emptied out as everyone goes down the shore MDW.tothedraw wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:22 pmYup! Either way, Philly is best location, lol.wlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:17 pmNo that was the 2013 NC game at Villanova! Re: Final Four - Cary,NC
Having school girls tourney down there definitely helps with attendance numbers but the place looks empty - not one person in the upper deck and both end zones are sparse with people.wlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:42 pmGood, I’m glad to hear it!Brownlax wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:37 pmyes it iswlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:21 pm Is the Schoolgirls National Tournament being played done in NC too? New York has sectional semi's this weekend. That would certainly limit a lot of the best in that state participating.Brownlax wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:54 pmHaving school girls tourney down there definitely helps with attendance numbers but the place looks empty - not one person in the upper deck and both end zones are sparse with people.wlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:42 pmGood, I’m glad to hear it!Brownlax wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:37 pmyes it iswlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:21 pm Is the Schoolgirls National Tournament being played done in NC too? Re: Final Four - Cary,NC
Was thinking the same thing about New Jersey. We are earlier in the playoffs, but still, I doubt anybody would want to miss a game. Most of the playoff games were yesterday. Some today. None tomorrow. Tons on Tuesday.
Re: Final Four - Cary,NC
If someone finds the attendance numbers - please post - thanks!
Re: Final Four - Cary,NC
I knew coaches in NY who forbade their players even trying out for that event.

Re: Final Four - Cary,NC
This was prior to big club growth in my area so it still was a big recruiting event, especially for players whose team didn't make it to Cortland. Club growth has put a real damper on the interest in it- at least from my perspective.

That seems really high considering the place holds 10,000 and there were a lot of empty seats.Madlax59 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 10:58 pmAttendance as per us lacrosse magazine was 7,702

You are correct the same field the Terps beat the Heels on in the 2015 championship game. The OT thriller was at Villanova in 2013.Brownlax wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:11 pmUNC beat MD 13-7 in Taylor Cumming’s senior year.tothedraw wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 4:06 pmWas that the famous MD/UNC OT battle? It does seem high. It’s a little bit higher than last year’s semifinal game, which also doesn’t seem right.Brownlax wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 8:51 amThat seems really high considering the place holds 10,000 and there were a lot of empty seats.Madlax59 wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2023 10:58 pmAttendance as per us lacrosse magazine was 7,702
As I mentioned yesterday, I wonder if these numbers are based on ticket sales or actual attendees.

I have been at WakeMed several times. The main game camera was located behind the benches ... also where most of the fans are seated, behind their teams. We saw the "offside" of the stands for most of the broadcast. Based on having been at the facility in person several times, I think the ~7000 attendance seems on target.
Re: Final Four - Cary,NC
Pretty sure the main camera was facing the benches looking at the stands with the upper deck that were completely empty.watcherinthewoods wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 11:42 am I have been at WakeMed several times. Re: Final Four - Cary,NC
If all these coaches want to grow the game, then they should hold the D1 and D3 championships in the same location. That would help grow the game.
Re: Final Four - Cary,NC
Simple change but why are final 4 games for men’s and women’s never 3 hours apart. The 2.5 hour difference is never enough so why have they not changed this. Even if most games in the regular season are done in under 2.5 hours the final 4 games tend to be just a little bit longer with everything that is involved

Same in CT. Most CIAC qualifying games were played on Friday evening, but some were played on Saturday, and all of the first round games are on Tuesday. The girls who make the teams for the national high school tournament are usually the top players on their high school teams, and coaches don't want to lose them for playoffs.
