Great list Nevada Joe.

Only thing I’d change is Defensive POY. I’d give it to Etown’s FOGO Jacob Griffin. He’s facing off at 75% in the conference and has 81 groundballs in conference games.

D3. It was down to Pierce and Griffin for me. A tough choice. You are correct that Griffin was a game-changer for Elizabethtown, especially in the conference games.

It would be pretty appalling if the kid who broke the landmark conference record for goals in a season gets left off the first team…..

Yes, Brennan Lorrence had 61 goals during the season, but only 27 of those goals came during Landmark conference play. Ben O’Connor scored 37 in Landmark conference play….

I think second team is just right for Lorrence.

Landmark Conference Playoffs Score Predictions:

Etown 19 SU 9

Think Etown at the faceoff X will be a lot for SU to handle and with Etowns fire power at attack they should have no problem scoring in bunches. I havent seen the grit from this SU team like years past and think they could fold early if they fall behind.

Scranton 14 Catholic 13 OT

Crapanzano nets the game winner in overtime as Scranton comes away with the narrow win. This time around I think the offenses score in bunches and could see a game of runs with both teams having an individual player that could drop 7 points on any given day.

Don’t think it’s only based on conference, but definitely mostly is.

How does a Def player with 5 GB and 8 CT in conference play make it onto the all-conference team over a Def Player with 17 GB and 9 CTs?

Do stats not count?

from what I can see it looks to be based off Conference rank.

1. E-Town w/ 8 players
2. Scranton w/ 7 players
3. Catholic w/ 6 players
4. Susquehanna w/ 5 players
5. Moravian w/ 1 player

Also is up to the coaches who vote… if I’m not wrong they basically hop on a conference call and vouch for their guys and the coaches just vote who they believe deserve it. So mostly comes down to how convincing the coach is and if other coaches agree with their thoughts. Doesn’t necessarily have to do with rank but obviously the better the team the more conference guys will be on that list.

Etown, Scranton, and Catholic are FAR better than the rest of the conference so it makes total sense they have the most all conference players. That’s how it works in every sport ever.

I think this is one of the only times in recent memory that there is no one that has been significantly snubbed in the all-conference voting by the Landmark coaches. Everyone that deserved a spot, got one, and outside of 1 or 2 adjustments the list is great, and represents the talent in the conference nearly perfectly. Kudos to the coaches, and it seems they were largely in agreement for the entire process.

(NOTE: Only potential snub I see on the all-conference was Lugo for Goucher. The kid played on HIS HEAD in nearly every game, and I know Pezone has the pedigree, but I don't know that he deserved it this year.)

Congrats to all the playoff teams in what I hope will be a typically wild and fun conference tournament that (of yester-year) used to almost always surprise us. I hope that old habit comes back and gives us some exciting games, however...

My predictions for:

#1 Etown vs #4 Susq - Etown is just too much, and too consistent, and too well coached. I have seen a lot of improvement from the Hawks this year, and with proper recruiting and development, Susquehanna has a chance to build around an insanely strong core of sophomores to build to a championship contender (call me out on this if you disagree). But Etown is simply the best in the conference, and benefiting from their experience and guys using extra years. Bluejays win 17-7.

#2 Scranton vs #3 Catholic - This one has a chance to be a knock-down-drag-out/no-holds-barred/cage-match showdown. If this goes how I think it might go, injuries, ejections, and fights in the bleachers, all might happen. These teams (and parents) have been going AT each other in recent meetings, and with a chance to play in a conference championship on the line, they are going to war.

Each team has its strengths. Catholic, an edge at the faceoff, and in goal (and in goal?) - means that if these two positions can get hot that they can win. Scranton, with its roster of offensive threats and scoring potential, combined with it's two first team all-conference defensemen, might just be able to keep Catholic at an arms distance and never look back. So, who wins...

Catholic, on the strong back of Victor Rosado, wins 11-10 in OT.

I'm going to go all Dad like and say my sons stats alone should have put him in. I agreed with NevadaJoe's placement of him. How do you end the year as a defenseman with 5 Goals, 1 assist, 63 Gbs and 35 CTs and not get in? Sorry but Its biased, IMHO.

But its my opinion.

O’Connor scored 9 of those goals vs Juniata. Not to mention almost all of his goals are crease dunks from offense generated by Riley Langon and others. Brennan Lorence is significantly better at ground balls, riding, and generating his own shots. Saying O’Connor is better than Lorence is like saying that Payton Cormier or Jake Taylor (crease guys) are better than someone like Pat Kavanaugh (do-it-all guys).

I'm sorry, I don't know who your son is, or what program he plays for. But, I'll say that it's tough to argue with those numbers. I'll also stand by what I said that - overall - this is one of the best and most cohesive all-conference selections this conference has seen in recent memory.

Im assuming your son plays for Goucher? Winning games gets you to the all conference list not stats...It would be tough to argue a defenseman on a team that gets blown out in every conference game over a defenseman on a team like Catholic, Etown or Scranton.

DAD is voicing his OPINION. Every dad does. When you EARN your stats, you hope to be recognized. BUT when you have garbage stats and get recognized, that's wrong, IN MY OPINION.

Oh, and Yes DAD was asking questions about how this was voted on. Valid question.

There are exceptionally good players that should be on that list that aren't because their team wasn't in the top 4.

This is done, and I'm moving on. Not asking for it to be changed, just voicing my opinion.
