What's the plan when teachers don't want to waste their time dealing with this stuff instead of actually teaching their kids?

Read the text. These are the same people who whine about administrative bloat, and wonder where all the money goes. And naturally, the Republicans who passed this bill have zero intention of funding alllllll the reams of paperwork and written notices required by this act.

This is where the money goes. They're demanding that teacher's double down on pointless TPS reports because "they read on the internet" that teachers are bad, and indoctrinating kids.

This'll pass in two years, no question.

IS the author of this bill "truly" a "republican

Your link does NOT show it passing the House. Some amendment votes have "passed", but, not the bill itself.

Biden will veto the bill, so why does it matter ? If I were POTUSA........I would hurry these bills along....pronto. Veto , veto, and more veto. THAT...is power So, go ahead and pass this law.

But, a bit confused. Didn't we learn, the the New York AG's office "educated" someone, on the seperation of Fed vs State. Does this not apply to state run public education systems ?

Geez....it IS almost as if most laws drafted have built in legal action....and years of it. A win win . For some.

oh, the equivalence is there my friend. Both parties pass stupid laws for the purpose of posturing, while the underlying impacts mindlessly conflict with other "stated" policy stances.

rrr nails is when he calls out the BS about R's spouting off about state's rights then pushing federal laws to "rein in blue states".

afan is right when he calls them out for just adding to the admin bloat of ineffective government.

Politician's all feel the need to pass new laws ALL the time. Guess what? we don't always need new laws. Sorry that fact gets in the way of their campaign donations....

This doesn't conflict with their overall educational message, which is: we're going to hold teachers criminally and civilly liable for doing their job "wrong". Whatever "wrong" means in the particular law.

The reason I bring it up is that it's not posturing. This bill will pass in 2 years. it's coming, no question.

And further, this is a template for Republican run States, who will follow suit.

So between the libs and these fake conservatives....teachers are running out of reasons to stay in their vocation.

It conflicts with their supposed message of localism. What are school boards even for? Oh yeah, that's right... somewhere in the RedvsBlue wars the Reds decided that school boards are bad....

There is a lot of real estate between "don't start teaching my 7 yr old about anal sex" and "we are going to arbitrarily send you to jail if we don't like how you teach" --- just saying. We'd be better governed if we collected a bunch of chimpanzees and put them in charge.

which IS fine by dr. bill gates. He's been providing "free tablets" and steered internet "access" to public schools for years. ya know, learning.

just as many teachers are leaving, or not joining....the teachers ranks for other reasons...too.

Like making the dad of a RAPE victim ,wait, for hours and hours, for his question to be heard. Than "some" went on further to accuse, still to this day, the victim of a crime (rape effects many ) and that father as DEMOStic terrorists. You act as if other humans, interested in teaching, don't think that situation, that happened in Loudon county, VA is at least, off putting. you don't think teachers, current or potential, were effected by these insane actions?

culture wars cut both ways......tought to attract employees when the leadership acts certain ways........and mandates non working drugs, like the covid "vaccine, and masks........blah blah blah.

yup...tough to attract employees that don't want to work in an environment where learning 25 different names, along with 25 different "pronouns", lest you get labled as committing abuse, or, an act of violence. This is reality.

And you blame the lack of entry on some TAATS, who will most likely, be sending their kids to private schools, anyway. Or, certainly, subsidizing with pay to pay activitites, like club lacrosse or robot club.

The main problem with CRT....is there IS no end game. It is the cure to our energy woes.....a perpetual wheel of "someone IS to blame, always and it ain't the whites that speak Spanish/Portgese, who owned most of the African slaves"..........

when you can't state, or define, what the theory IS..........in CRT........your not looking for solutions. Because, your not stating any problems.

Maybe that’s a good thing, and we can have mom and dad (or whatever you call it now) begin more home schooling of their kids or see more pop up smaller scales schools that stop teaching to a test to chase funding and focus more on an actual STEAM education.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Students in the school were shown images of a Renaissance period sculpture, the “David,” leading to complaints that the children were shown pornographic material

Well that's a change. Up to this time male nudity was considered OK while partially dressed females were considered pornography. Nice to see an end to the double standard.

Now they should do the same with cross dressers. If male cross dressers are so wicked who undermine children's morality then surely Peter Pan (a female cross dresser) is just as wicked. If male crossers are banned, so should she be.

Right?

Wrong analysis, parents need not decide what is being taught to their children. They do have a right since this concerns what is being taught to their kids and what the curriculum is. Mark Twain novels need to be censored for racial slurs. Mark Twain composed his books using the vernacular of his era. Todays school children are incapable of understanding the context of how Mark Twain composed his stories. A good teacher especially an English teacher should be able to explain this to his/her students before they read the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. The controversy today where I live has school libraries having to defend a book named " This Book is Gay. If students can understand the context of how Mark Twain wrote they can understand the context of a book titled this book is gay. When I was in HS 50 years ago there was a huge stigma against gay or more feminine male students. They were judged harshly and became outcasts in their own school. I had a very good friend in HS who fit that description to a tee. Nobody at my Catholic HS was a huge fan of Paul White man, Benny Goodman and the big band music of the 1940s, Jerry was though. My grandmother had a huge collection of these big band records and a bunch of magazines from that era that she was happy to give him. Jerry never conformed with what everybody else was doing or what music they were listening to. He stayed true to who he was. He played the tuba in our high school band. Jerry was the only person I knew in HS who never cared what other people said about him. He did his own thing and loved doing it. I use to joke with him that he was born 50 years to late. So a book in a HS library titled this book is gay should traumatize some parents? You can only fear what you don't know. My good friend put up with untold insults and humiliation all through 4 years of HS. I was always proud to have him as a friend. I have not been in touch with him in a long time. We both had the same thing in common, we never quite fit in with the popular kids. I was the long haired Black Sabbath/ Alice Cooper fan. He loved the 1940s big band music. Why some parents are traumatized by a book named this Book is Gay is beyond me.

Maybe we just need to get back to the 1940s, when everyone knew their place:

This doesn't conflict with their overall educational message, which is: we're going to hold teachers criminally and civilly liable for doing their job "wrong". Whatever "wrong" means in the particular law.

The reason I bring it up is that it's not posturing. This bill will pass in 2 years. it's coming, no question.

And further, this is a template for Republican run States, who will follow suit.

So between the libs and these fake conservatives....teachers are running out of reasons to stay in their vocation.
Maybe that’s a good thing, and we can have mom and dad (or whatever you call it now) begin more home schooling of their kids or see more pop up smaller scales schools that stop teaching to a test to chase funding and focus more on an actual STEAM education.
That's some major-league "glass is half full", my man. Good on ya for that.

So glad my kids are out of this nonsense…..if and when Grandchildren come along, it is private schools for them.

I know….. we are going to let the “parents” decide what is taught in schools…. Hope it’s the smart parents…..the American Empire is on life support.
I am a Fletcher Henderson and Duke Ellington guy. Benny Goodman was excellent and had some excellent bands with excellent musicians. Nobody that I know that is into the music owns any or ever mentions Paul Whiteman outside of claims that he “invented” jazz. I bet there were good records in that collection. Went to a gig last night.

Interesting side note to Benny Goodman. He had a very talented guitar player named Charlie Christian who played an amplified Gibson hollow body in some of Goodman's recording sessions. Very few of these early recording sessions exist and few people if any are aware that Charlie Christian was the first guitar player to play an amplified guitar in that era of big band music. He was brilliant and way before his time. It was a big deal that Benny Goodman was so infatuated with this talented black guitarist that he let him play and record with his band.

Right?
wondering where you live, or, more specifically if you frequent art museums......where else, regarding the "art world", are you seeing completely naked men? Seems odd you would make this claim.

The David sculpture is called art, not pornoghry, for obvious reasons. Men, 'equiped' like David, can feel better about themselves.

You ever see a "black" David statue? I have. Located in Savin Hill, MA. Find a picture of "black" David statue, and tell me that just changing the face, and penis size, makes it more like "porn" than art.

Former US Senator Scott Brown was a centerfold.......never got to see his penis size tho. .....

really, wondering, where you have lived that consider male nudity OK. Please, explain away....
