1. Tufts - but a battle with Bowdoin
2. Bowdoin - Amazing turn-around so quickly

4. Middlebury - solid solid play
5. Amherst - amazing after troubles couple years ago that they bounced back so quickly
6. Williams - still need defense?
7. Hamilton - building on last year?
8. Conn College - improving
9. Colby - like em but they need better recruits
10. Bates - new coach could bring them higher... tournament in 2 years
11. Trinity - just sounds like a mess - every senior quit?
Good format. Hot take coming!

1. Amherst - Woods engineers the comeback we all deserve (and Biddy weeps)
2. Wesleyan - massive roster (almost) carries Raba to the top
3. Tufts - all dynasties end (but only temporarily)
4. Midd - lost very little to graduation and added a strong OC
5. Hamilton - strong and hungry senior class
6. Bowdoin - Mason's sophomore swoon (triggered by graduation losses)
7. Conn - Nagle quietly creeping into contention with solid play and good recruiting
8. Williams - defense seemed off in '22 and offense lost its maestro to graduation
9. Bates - Annino barely misses playoffs but primes for 2024
10. Colby - GVA has lost the magic for the moment
11. Trinity - those young men deserve better ...

Think Williams might surprise some and Midd as well. Midd has some great upper class leadership. Will be interesting to see how Hamilton goes forward. In terms of Trin not every Sr but 22 of the 25 who were in their recruiting class including one of the boys elected captain. A couple of underclassmen have also left the team. All in all over 25 kids have decided to part ways with the programs.

What graduation losses for Bowdoin? The only really important guy they lose is Donal, and when he was hurt last year at the end, the offense looked just as good without him as more guys were getting touches and showing they can put the ball in the net. Defense returns the same if not better, offense returns more than enough of last years firepower, Ethan Barnard is going to continue to dominate, Robert Hobbs stands steady in the cage with a whole year of experience now. Can’t say Bowdoin at 6 makes any sense, especially behind hamilton and midd!

Yeah - I got to watch Bowdoin last year when Donal was out - the team looked amazing - played as a TEAM - it was fun to watch. Going to try to catch them a couple times this season.

1. Tufts - automatic pick until someone knocks them off
2. Bowdoin - return the vast majority of contributors from last year's team, deep and well coached
3. Amherst - similar to Bowdoin; good coaching staff in year 2 + lots of returners = Mammoths competing at the top
4. Wesleyan - think this is where Tier 2 begins; they bring back a lot but are a shade below the top three
5. Middlebury - stop me if you've heard this before: talented roster that showed flashes last season
6. Hamilton - (almost) everyone is back from a sneaky competitive 2022 team
7. Williams - can see them as high as 4 and as low as 9; no idea what to expect
8. Conn - young team in 2022 brings back a lot, will annoy the top teams
9. Bates - impossible to overstate the impact of addition by subtraction, but need a year or two to recruit
10. Colby - scuffling around the fringes of the playoffs with Bates and Trinity
11. Trinity - [gestures at several pages of discussion about the issues in Hartford]

Back in February 2022, it wouldn't have made "any sense" to pick Bowdoin at #2, but that's where they wound up. I could be way off, but it's not any fun to just trot out the end of season rankings. Mullane, Chandler and Bravo are the biggest losses from the '22 team. Bowdoin isn't sneaking up on anyone this year and other NESCAC coaches have had an entire off season to study Mason's team. We'll have a much better idea about Bowdoin after the season opener at Midd, which if I recall correctly was a one-goal affair in 2022.

Here's the word on Bowdoin this year. The bones are the skeletons' money, in our world bones equals dollars. That's why they're coming out tonight, to get the bones from you. The skeletons (Bowdoin) will pull your hair up, but not out. All they want is another chance at life. They've never seen so much food as this underground there's half as much food as this... and the worms are their money.... should be a good season for the Polar Bears.

Besides Wesleyan and Tufts, any insight onto who else is scrimmaging this weekend? I always find it crazy, that some of the D1 schools will have played 5-6 games before the NESCAC schools have their first game.

Oh my... does that apparently a mess of a Trinity team know what they're walking in to down there? Not for the timid getting on the field with those guys...
