Looking at this weekend's TV schedule, it seems like everybody EXCEPT the CAA is on one of the cable channels. Even the MAAC and AE are on TV.

Well, if the CAA had agreed to start its tourney final at 8 a.m.... but seriously, in my opinion the league doesn't get the respect it deserves. Delaware winning at least one more game this season would help. Longer term, adding Stony Brook should be a positive.

Congrats to the Hens. First they win the MBB championship, now the MLAX title. Go make some noise in the NCAAT!

The current TV contract the CAA has is a killer for exposure and recruiting. Who is going to pay for Flosports? Parents of players in the CAA may, but the general lacrosse fan is not. On top of that the quality of the broadcasts is really poor on both Flosports and Lax Sports network. You watch a game on the CAA outlets and then switch to ESPN + and the quality of the picture on ESPN+ is substantially better. The CAA may have the worst broadcasting contract in the country. I guess blame goes to the AD's and the commissioner.

Update from the NLL
they’ve started their playoffs,

Rookie caused turnovers in a season
Previous record: 33, Zach Currier, 2018

2022 leader: Reid Bowering, 34

Record achieved
Bowering is likely to finish behind Jeff Teat (who appears just down the page) for the Rookie of the Year award,
but he may well have had one of the best rookie seasons in the league's history.
His pair of CTOs in the season finale pushed him one ahead of Zach Currier, whose remarkable season will be noted just a couple of records down the column as well.

Rookie loose balls in a season
Existing record: 214, Brodie Merrill, 2006

2022 leader: Reid Bowering, 214

Record tied
While Bowering didn't break this record, tying it may have been as impressive as any record that was broken. The fact that he caught he matched Merrill's mark was noteworthy, but it's the way he did it that really jumps out. Bowering collected an astonishing 23 loose balls in the final game of the season, catching up to Merrill when it had looked like a foregone conclusion that he would fall a bit short.

Reid Bowering finishes 2nd to Jeff Teat,

Reid Bowering had more caused turnovers and as many loose ball recoveries as any rookie ever in the NLL. Beyond the numbers, he just leaps off the screen every time you watch him play, the kind of player who has an obvious impact when he's on the floor. And how about his sense of drama, needing an improbable 23 loose balls in his final game to catch the great Brodie Merrill for the rookie loose ball record when he hadn't had more than 16 in a game before that...and scooping 23 loosies

Saw Bowering live this year. He looked good. In the one game I saw of each vs the Swarm, Bowering stood out more than Teat to me but that’s anecdotal. (Man they abuse Lyle in that league, we’re talking full on assault triple team off ball every game unlike any other player sees)
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Finally,

Someone besides Towson wins an NCAA game, there have been
close ones, UMass took Yale to the limit in 2018, Towson should
have gotten to the quarterfinals in 2019, Drexel had Notre Dame
all but beaten last year but couldn’t close the deal.

In the CAA, these things are measured in decades unlike other
conferences,

but the last ten years,
-Drexel quarterfinals 2014
where the CAA hadn’t gotten past the first round in years
-Towson quarterfinals 2016
-Towson Final Four 2017
-Delaware quarterfinals (and more?) 2022

And also,

good timing by Hens where it looks like this could be a
good era for CAA play, the CAA goes through these cycles.

Hens, of course.
But Tigers, they’re on an up swing, Kyle Berkeley, Nick
DeMaio, and Weisshaar coming in this summer.
Stony Brook got the St. John’s transfer to team with
Dylan Pallonetti.
Dutch in the last few games were really clicking on offense
with Kane et al.
And even Drexel, took a definite step back, they need to turn
their roster over, too many 5th year guys, a real good top
recruiting class coming in the fall.

Assume Avanzato returns for a 5th year at Towson.. at least he has the eligibility to do so.

And since the next game is being played in Ohio, perhaps there will be some support from the Toledo Mud Hens.

McIntosh, although HM, is still underrated. Bryan was a killer at MSM and Hofstra. Not enough lacrosse people saw this cat play.
