2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
Looking at their seasons and not just the head-to-head games, I'm sticking with my initial prediction, Denison beats Grove City handily and York crushes Southern Virginia. Grove City has this one good W vs. Denison but... No other real quality Ws and they lost to some not-so-great teams. I think Denison is going to take care of them.

Yeah there isn't much in the rest of their season that suggests a good outcome. JC and Baldwin Wallace were close but that Coast Guard game sticks out as a pretty bad loss. They do have an AA faceoff guy so possessions will help them .757 for the lead guy and .720 overall. That is pretty healthy and will keep the game close.

Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
To say Denison beats Grove City handily means you haven't watched much D3 lax this season. Denison wins this game but its close in the fourth quarter and Grove City FOs can carry them to a win. I am sure Denison saw the first game as a fluke and have been waiting for this rematch for quite some time. York handles Southern Virginia and their bench is cleared by the third quarter to rest for tomorrows game. I know York is most likely rooting for Denison to win today as they know just how dangerous an opposing AA FO guy can be. Dont sleep on Grove City throughout the weekend.
Predictions:
SVA - 8 York - 22
Grove City - 10 Denison 11
Predictions:
SVA - 8 York - 22
Grove City - 10 Denison 11
Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
York needs to be ready especially with clears, SVU lives and dies by the 10 man ride. If a team is not ready for the pressure it force a lot of turnovers. If York breaks the 10 man ride consistently the score won’t be close.

Stevens does not play Catholic. See line #12.
Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
There's sure to be an upset Saturday, but I'll be damned if I can pick one. A few games will be close for sure, but is there a Centre beats Denison game in here like last year? Grove City winning I suppose would be an upset.Matnum PI wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 1:13 pm These are this weekend’s Best National Tournament Games in order:

Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
I (and Laxpower) have Wesleyan as the favorite, but that and 'Noke over Gettysburg are the two upsets that seem most likely given those rankings (excluding games between teams within 5 ranks). Personally, I think it's all chalk in the first round, though I see MIT/Amherst and W&L/Cabrini as true toss-ups that couldn't be considered an upset regardless of winner--Wes/RPI might fit too, but I think the Cardinals are slight favorites (-1.5 by my previous predictions).
Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
If RPI can play a complete game at their peak abilities, they win. I have seen both play, and favor Wes also by a couple, unless RPI puts it all together.SixBySix wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 6:26 pmI (and Laxpower) have Wesleyan as the favorite, but that and 'Noke over Gettysburg are the two upsets that seem most likely given those rankings (excluding games between teams within 5 ranks). I hope college video feeds are better than usual Sat. I need to put my game schedule together.

Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
Five seconds left in the half and Denison puts a shorty on the restart behind the cage - result is a goal on a crease attack by Grove City. Hope this isn't a costly mistake for the Red.
If we need that extra push over the cliff, ya know what we do...eleven, exactly.
Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
Denison down three and I still think this is about a 50-50 game, but I've been very impressed by Grove City's offense. Very crisp ball movement and some good shooting.
Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
Same situation as last seconds of first half. DU better put a long pole on the ball!

Great game.
Impressed with Grove too. Good sticks, play fast, sharp on O.
Congratulations on a good season!

Agreed. Tough way to go down not getting a final rip at the net though.
Liked the call by Mr Announcer. Very efficient.

Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
Incredible game, that was really fun to watch and a solid broadcast overall. Denison's ball movement at times was great - interested to see how they handle York (and vice versa). Was selfishly rooting for overtime and free lacrosse at the end - Grove City had 4-5 good looks at the cage to send it to overtime and just couldn't hit the net.

Haven't seen either team play but heard much about Gebhardt. Who will cover him for Amherst?

If I were Amherst I would have everybody cover him! Stop him, you stop MIT.tech37 wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 8:53 amIntriguing first round game.UpperCorner22 wrote: ↑Tue May 10, 2022 7:51 amHow certain are you about that one? I haven't seen MIT play - but I have seen Amherst play...

That's surprising. You'd think an undefeated team would have other arrows in their quiver.Nigel wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 9:47 amIf I were Amherst I would have everybody cover him! Re: 2022 D3 NCAA Tournament Bracket
IMO Gebhardt is going to get his no matter what, unless a team decides to completely shut him off. Greenest light I think I've ever seen - leading the nation in shots by a lot, has at least a hat trick in every game this season, and hasn't scored fewer than four goals in a game in over a month. FWIW Vandenberg and Nilsen are good secondary options as well - it's not just about stopping Gebhardt. MIT is legit.
I think beating the Engineers is largely about stopping (really neutralizing) Matthew Sardis. He's at 72.5% on faceoffs this season, #8 nationally. MIT's offense is high scoring but not necessarily super efficient. They just get a lot of extra possessions because Sardis tilts the field so much. Their defense is fine but not the strength of the team and I don't love them playing extended possessions against a high-level offense unless Drexler-Bruce is particularly locked in in the cage. It looked like Sardis got rolled up on or something at the end of the NEWMAC championship, has a knee brace on today. Really interested to see how he looks against a good Amherst FOGO. If it's pretty even at the X I think MIT could be in trouble.

I expect MIT-Amherst to be the game of the tournament through this round, will be high scoring, I’ll say 16-14 Jeffs
