This callout seems entirely unnecessary. No one will dispute that Wick is a deeper team - they've consistently been one of the best teams in NE for over a decade. To say that Loomis will easily lose by 10 after a very competitive game against Salisbury and win over TP, is unlikely - and just in poor taste.

I too am looking forward to a more balanced and competitive league - and am hopeful that Loomis, Choate, and Hotchkiss are on the right path to achieving that. They should have no problem attracting the talent - they are some of the best schools in the country. Sometimes one sport is deprioritized for another (for whatever reason)... but it would seem lacrosse is back at the top of that list for many programs.

A few random questions about how Brunswick runs its Brunswick II/Varsity B squad. Is it mainly an opportunity to provide juniors and seniors who are solid but not spectacular the chance to play varsity opponents outside of the West 1 meat grinder? Where do talented sophomores and freshmen who don't quite have the stuff to contribute to the A team play? Are they on Varsity B? JV? Do they they try to keep the freshmen together on Thirds?

I don't know for sure how they do it, but from what I have observed the top freshman are on the West-1 team and I believe the Varsity B team takes freshman/sophomores who are not quite at the West-1 level, but are expected to be in future years.

From what has been explained to me (but I could be wrong):

Varsity A - top team, from all years

Varsity B Prep - 2nd team, comprised of mostly Jr's and Sr's who didnt make or didn't want to play on Varsity A. There may be some freshman and sophomores as a feeder to A

JV Prep - mostly underclassman. This serves as a feeder to Varsity A and B.

Salisbury controlling TP at the half 8-2. Winning near all FO's and are controlling the ball as a result. 2-3 on man ups.

Looking forward to watching a little of the Wick @ Lawrenceville game.

TP flips the script in the 3rd. Score is 8-5 now, and TP has the momentum. Strong D and quick breaks on turnovers the source of momentum change.

10-5 final score. Similar to the other games of Salisbury's I've watched. Jump out big early, and then play it even the rest of the way. TP's goalie was outstanding today as was Salisbury's FO guy who I think went undefeated.

Watched a chunk of the Wick game in the first half. At the half they were up maybe 10 -3. Just flipped it back on and L'Ville have cut the lead to 3 at the end of 3. No color but Lawrenceville clearly had a big period.

Millbrook pummeling Kent 18-5 again supports swapping them into 1 in exchange for Kent and NMH going to 2. Not that they would win many if any games but they would be more competitive. Now, they may not want to do that and that would be understandable, they play a competitive (for them) schedule and win most but not all of their games. They may not want to trade that for 7 or 8 more certain losses. But I don’t see the current situation with Kent and NMH as benefitting anyone.

Wick is going to absolutely violate this league. Both this current year and in 23. It's game over for the wack boarding schools. It's actually kind of adorable the country relatives (aka kids in a custody hearing) think they'd be possibly able to take on the Greenwich establishment.

And, I will say this. If you send your kids to boarding school, as a non-PG, you're a terrible parent. Real talk. The goal will be asset preservation rather than quality of life. That is beyond real. You know who you are. When they couldn't live in your house most of the year, you probably can't live in their house. Yeah. They'll find you a "nice facility"

Brunswick. Great story. Fairchester to the top of West-1. But let's not get carried away.

Bold prediction: Avon gets run off the field today by a talented and deep salisbury team. Ditto to choate who is hanging on by a thread in Founders League relevance!

Yesterday results:

Taft 17-7 westy
Tp 16-5 Kent

Kent is an actual JV level program and was difficult to watch. Tp played a similar role to wick a few weeks ago in taking shot clock violations. Taft looks to be hitting their stride as they get past their cushy games into the meat of their schedule.

Hold on. PrimeTime says the season's over and boarding schools are being abandoned. I thought all games have been cancelled and Wick was declared Prep Nationals champion. I'm so confused. :D

And if anyone can provide a clear definition between PG's and PreG's (other than they are the same age) that would be most illuminating. I'm thinking about redshirting my son with my 4th wife. He's entering first grade this Fall. Extra credit: Do vasectomies hurt? Mick Jagger and I are in discussions about possibly getting them. I'll be 105 when my youngest graduates Deerfield, and should likely remove my DNA from the global reproductive pool.
