I love Saratoga, it is a great town...from May through August. The rest of the time it's just like Union, RPI, RIT, Ithaca etc.

I don’t know if I would call it a revolving door of coaches but if you wind up there as a coach don’t do too well or the pressure will be on for you to leave. I’ve never seen a place reward success with such disdain.

Hart was 3 seasons I think
Keer was 2
Martin so far is 3?
Maybe a slow revolve but it’s been a long time since a senior class at Skid played for the coach who recruited them
Agree on disdain for success. That’s on the AD and Admin.

Liberty League Athletics just released their preseason polls...goes as follows
RIT
UNION
SLU
ITHACA
RPI
CLARKSON
SKIDMORE
VASSAR

You're not allowed to vote for your own team to be in first which means Coach Coon and the Tigers picked Union over SLU as the Dutchmen got 1 first place vote. Any thoughts?

I think the Liberty will be a slugfest but especially between SLU, Union, Ithaca and RPI. Should be fun to watch

One factor will be Union playing a lot of big games on the road: SLU, RPI, RIT (in addition to Tufts, Williams, SJF, Springfield and Endicott). Ithaca is the only big home game.
That is one tough schedule.

That is one tough schedule.
They also have Middlebury at home but arguably one of the toughest schedules in all of D3 lacrosse.

It was a blizzard! Cortland was physical but Union is much more talented offensively.

Ithaca over Oneonta today. Watched a bit of the third seemed underwhelming to me, from what little I watched. Interested to see how they fair on Saturday against a St John Fischer who has yet to play.

IC is going to get lit up by SJF…watched three quarters of Oneonta. They’re going to struggle against SLU, Union for sure and other liberty schools if they run into injuries. Lack of depth. Huge graduating senior class is going to leave them in the dirt next year

Best spot in town-https://www.oldebryaninn.com/

My grandmother lived there for more than a decade. Built my old used book and bootleg tape/CD collection on shops in dt Saratoga as well.
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Distressing that it wasn't even remotely competitive. 10 goals in the first quarter? SJF could have put up 30 on IC easily if they hadn't called off the dogs. Damn.

Ithaca seems to have really fallen off over the past 4 years or so. When they first joined the LL, they were competitive against all but RIT. Now they're pretty clearly third tier in the league.

RPI off to a hot start, any insight? Can they make a mess inside the conference end of the season?

Tigers are legit. Everyone else in LL is playing for 2nd place and hoping to get an at large.

IC has had good players roll through. IMO Long has to go in order for IC to make the leap to upper level and NESCAC competitive. It will clearly show next year as their depth and recruiting will be lacking in terms of players getting thrown onto first line despite never seeing field action before. Long has benched the starting goalie from the SJF game due to that first quarter/half. Hasn't seen action the past 3 games, despite pretty much being number 1 since freshman year. Coaching is a joke. Man needs to take a book out of the 2022 sports psychology department. It's not 1990s and much of that style of coaching is out of date and not conducive to a successful team.

Union smoked Williams and RIT struggled with Stevens…don’t write your narrative too quickly now!
