For this reason the 70% number may not be representative for all KN95s distributed in the US. KN95s are generally less expensive than US made N95. You likely get what you pay for. It is though less that 70% is the actual % based on actual total US distribution from various manufacturers.

Personally I see no reason to purchase KN95s when N95s are available and reasonably priced from quality US manufacturers like 3M.
Most everyone puts on kn95's and handles them incorrectly anyway.

Carroll County MD, voted 60% for 2xIMPOTUS o d in 2020.
Here is plea from county health depart, their one hospital, public safety and Fire & EMS:

"Carroll County – this is real. We are in a very difficult situation. This is not about politics or personal beliefs. This is about taking care of ourselves, each other, our first responders, our healthcare providers, and our community. You trust us with your medical conditions, you trust us with your emergencies, you trust us with your surgeries. So now it’s time to please do your part by protecting yourself and each other. Regardless of what you believe, put that aside and help us to reduce the pressure on our healthcare system, so that it can return to providing the best care possible to our community."

Sykesville Volunteer Fire & Rescue has a small number of ambulances and recently has NOT been able to respond to 911 calls, as all staff and ambulances were in use. They also have been taking patients to other counties and even PA as the local hospital is over capacity.

... a similar tale is coming out of Harford county, on the east side of Baltimore county. They are not quite as enthralled with Orange Duce as Carroll, but it is close. Baltimore Sun ran a story in yesterdays Sunday paper about how the county politicians basically fired their Department of Health COVID Pandemic expert in October, then voted against mask mandates and wrote to one of Harford County's two hospitals telling them they should not require vaccination as a requirement for employment at that Hospital - Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Belair. They now have both of their hospitals operating under CSC (critical emergency) rules (Upper Chesapeake and Harford Memorial in Havre de Grace). Real geniuses!

All of my chem/bio guys have ditched their PAPRs and SCBAs and decades worth of training and listen to Fauci now. Virus/compound size really doesn’t matter. Surgical masks will suffice.

This Christmas break was a sh-it show. Everywhere. People did whatever they wanted. No wonder the numbers are going through the roof right now. People were irresponsible.

Also the trend I’ve seen on social media is tons of vaccinated people who thought they were immune - so they did whatever they wanted and became super spreaders, traveling, going to crowded indoor restaurants, going to theme parks. Now surprised they got covid.

Just not smart. Vaccinated or not, people need to act more responsible.

Acting responsible is waiving through the vaccine requirement on the basis of a bogus religious exemption…that mentality is no different than the doctor prescribing oxy because its a money maker.

Interesting finding regarding COVID antibodies. Make antibodies for "conserved" portions of the spike.

... it would be good to see an real study of unvaxxed vs vaxxed beds taking up space in COVID wards. Gov of Maryland claims 75% unvaxxed. I have seen other number at 90%. I don't think anyone has done a good study on omicron infections.

Trump made them do it, even though he's been gone for a year.
He's why the same thing is happening in Europe.

Squidward's right on this: Trump's a symptom, not a cause - there'd be just as many (or more?) anti-vaxxers in red states/counties if Hillary had won in 2016.

Most of the folks being labeled as antivaxxers, aren't antivaxxers. They are nut job Trump supporters. There are antivaxxers that are democratic voters, there are antivaxxers that are republican voters. Most of the people who aren't getting vaccinated are Trump supporters. Has nothing to do with antivax. These people are you can't tell me what to do types - just like Trump. They don't like anything where someone smarter than them tells them they should do it, let alone mandate it. They are life's losers! Europe has similar losers.

Well, after COVID there’ll be fewer. Should help with SS shortfall.

Unvaccinated Trash Harm Their Children, Themselves, and Burden Healthcare System

Post by DocBarrister »

(CNN)More than 103,000 people are currently hospitalized with Covid-19, the first time the total has reached six figures in nearly four months, according to the latest data from the US Department of Health and Human Services.

… States also are reporting surges in the number of children hospitalized. In Illinois, that number has almost tripled since the beginning of December, Gov. J. B. Pritzker said Monday. New Jersey Health Commissioner Judy Persichilli said the total number of pediatric hospitalizations in that state has almost doubled in seven days.

Data published from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Department of Health and Human Services last week showed that pediatric hospital admissions had reached a record high.

… The hospitalizations are primarily among unvaccinated people. According to the latest CDC data, cumulative hospitalization rates through November are about eight times higher for unvaccinated adults and about 10 times higher for unvaccinated children ages 12 to 17.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/03/health/u ... index.html

Let’s dispense with the niceties here.

If you are an adult who refuses to get the Covid-19 vaccine, or if you are a parent who refuses to get your eligible children vaccinated, then you are by definition, TRASH.

Stop being ignorant, dangerous, reckless morons … get vaccinated.

As one who might well be said to have participated in this "sh-tshow", given that I went on a Caribbean cruise and now have COVID, I'll certainly agree that lots of people I saw were ignoring mask protocols in the airport on Xmas day (most were compliant on plane, but some ignored entirely in airport, lots of others not wearing over nose). Cruise required vaccination and testing immediately prior to coming aboard, 50% occupancy...masking indoors required on ship...except for during meals or at the bar drinking!!!...really not a surprise that COVID spread, though the concept was to reduce the incidence a lot...

I would never have done this cruise had this not been my wife's family and the heavy arm twisting that made it happen...I could have bailed out, given rising Omicron, but not without a big issue with my wife and her family who were so emotionally committed to going, having postponed multiple prior times when the cruises were canceled by the cruise companies...

And when we got off the boat, literally no one was wearing a mask as we came through New Orleans, whether indoors or outside. Hotel workers weren't, none of the other guests were masked, not in elevators...and that's despite knowing Omicron is rampant.
