Don't know if those comments are true but if so he's lucky he's playing anywhere.

Richie Moran's grandson Chase Sposito has been chosen to participate as a QB representing Ithaca High School in the Ernie Davis All Star Football Game. He also plays lacrosse for IHS. A great athlete.

Kirst among the 10 featured in this article:

https://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/ ... 2022/58616

Based on reports from the Maryland scrimmage and elsewhere, Kelleher could have been singled out, as well, though he was far more under the radar as a recruit than Kirst. And, of course, 2 from the same team would be a practical non-starter.

While not earth shattering news, Rob Pannell was voted in the Top 50 of all players in the PLL, by PLL players themselves, for the 2020 season. It will be interesting to see if Jeff Teat makes the Top 50 for the 2021 season. Rob was number 23 of 50.

I saw that Albany has posted its schedule. On February 19, 2022, The Danes face the Big Red in Ithaca.

Jeff Teat named NLL Rookie of the Week. He had a hat trick with three beautiful box goals versus the knight hawks over the weekend.

EDIT NOTICE: 2022 SCHEDULE HAS BEEN POSTED. IGNORE THIS. SCHEDULE: https://cornellbigred.com/sports/mens-lacrosse/schedule

More than half of the 2022 schedule is known thanks to other programs' releases. If you're as impatient as I am, you probably track this already. This is for the sane folks.

Although we're seeing hints that the 2022 schedule is going to be built on a typical even-year format as far as game locations, we already know that some of the 2020 non-conference opponents won't be back on the schedule.

Known 2022 schedule so far based on other teams' releases and other tips

Sat, Feb 5, TBA, scrimmages at Drexel (incl. Monmouth, Stony Brook)
Sat, Feb 19, 1 pm, Albany
Tue, Mar 1, 5 pm, Hobart
Sat, Mar 12, 12 pm, at Penn State
Sat, Mar 26, 1 pm, at Penn
Tue, Mar 29, 5 pm, at Colgate
(note: from Patriot composite schedule; not released by Colgate)
Sat, Apr 2, 1 pm, at Dartmouth
Sat, Apr 16, TBA, Army
Sat, Apr 23, 12 pm, Brown
Sat, Apr 30, TBA, at Princeton

Other opponents that could be considered likely based on 2020

at Ohio State
Yale
Harvard
Syracuse

Other recent or frequent opponents that weren't on 2020 schedule

Lehigh
Notre Dame
St. Bonaventure
Virginia

Teams we know won't be on the schedule based on releases so far

Air Force, Bellarmine, Binghamton, Boston University, Bryant, Bucknell, Cleveland State, Delaware, Denver, Detroit Mercy, Drexel, Fairfield, Georgetown, High Point, Hofstra, Jacksonville, Johns Hopkins, Loyola, Marist, Marquette, Massachusetts, Mercer, Merrimack, Michigan, Navy, NJIT, Richmond, Robert Morris, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, Siena, St. John's, Stony Brook, Towson, UMBC, Vermont, Villanova, VMI, Wagner

Jack Cascadden was named Nassau County Football player of the year.

https://www.newsday.com/sports/high-sch ... 1.50446188

"Cascadden, a 6-3, 215-pounder, played ferociously at defensive end and amassed 73 tackles, including 13 behind the line of scrimmage, in 10 games for Garden City (12-0). He was an equally devastating weapon when the Trojans had the ball, rushing for 1,368 yards and 27 touchdowns on 11.4 yards per carry. He also was an exceptional punter."

The 139th meeting (I think) of the Hobart vs. Cornell game will be on Tuesday 3/1 at 5 PM. Expecting typical CNY weather, it should be a balmy 37 degrees (if we're lucky) on Schoellkopf Field.
