Washington & Lee 2022
Time to turn the page, let’s get 2022 underway. Any thoughts on the incoming freshman class, who might make an impact. Thoughts on the loss of 2 significant contributors to the coaching staff, this summers recruiting group and can W&L overcome the advantage schools with grad programs will have going forward. Any transfers?

Coaching the D side of the ball looks to be sufficient. The O side looks suspicious. Have to wait and see how the group develops I guess. I think the talent level on the defensive side of the ball is sound, not sure where they will be offensively. 3/5/22 Koch returns to W&L hope the Generals will be prepared. When are they posting their schedule? 2/19 W&L plays York who has owned them in their last 6 meetings. York has become one of the top D3 teams in the country. Child’s continues to build upon their success. Pretty sure they do not have any grad programs so no 5th years that I’m aware of. 3/12 Generals take on HSC
My mistake York will have several 5th year returnees. They also brought in a great asst coaching staff. Tough game to open with .

Congratulations to these fine young men.

Who is taking over in Goal? I have seen the Spaglionetti kid play and he is an excellent goalie. Any competition from the freshman coming in?Dehuntshigwa’es wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 4:49 pmCoaching the D side of the ball looks to be sufficient. The O side looks suspicious. Looks like will be between Spaglionetti and Seeds. The 2 younger guys do not appear to be ready for prime time just yet.Asgot wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 12:57 pmWho is taking over in Goal? Re: Washington & Lee 2022
Is there anyone attending who might be able to report back? Does the fact that they are scrimmaging Southern Virginia mean they will not play in the regular season? If so, the Generals' lifetime record against the Knights will be 0-1.

Can anyone provide an update on tonight’s scrimmage. Who was in the cage, any impactful freshman, how about Mize.
Re: Washington & Lee 2022
It was a huge blowout by WLU (~30 goal differential). Not sure you can take much away from the performance.

Seems like a dominant performance over a SVU that was “supposed” to be pretty good. These results probably say more about SVU then W&L.

I guess Danneman did not play for SVU. Who played in the goal, was time splitInsiderRoll wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 5:37 pm https://twitter.com/jefferynewman/statu ... 18050?s=21

btw I’d hope Coach McCabe and company are subtly recruiting Porkorny’s younger brother. Kid has game and maybe he’ll like the D3 model. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7-Doin8tUqADehuntshigwa’es wrote: ↑Sat Oct 09, 2021 6:25 pmI guess Danneman did not play for SVU. MAC - The SEC of DIII lacrosse.
Re: Washington & Lee 2022
Very disappointing level of competition. I don't think the staff realized it would be this lopsided when it was set up. Not sure it was at all useful to evaluate anyone. VMI would have been a much better game and more useful.

Re: Washington & Lee 2022
Well, I mean yea, obviously they thought it would be stiffer competition. SVU not only beat them in the previous meeting, but out scored them 14 to 6 over the last 3 quarters.
Perhaps what was to be gained was some confidence, back from that loss. Could be one team was looking to scrimmage and evaluate different packages of talent, while the other was looking to win a “game” they thought they should’ve won last year. Could be a lot of things…
I’m guessing when the score was 15-0 in the second quarter of the scrimmage, and W&L kept firing, that the W&L coaches got to do exactly what they intended to do that day.

Re: Washington & Lee 2022
Thank you DP! I thought after last season’s debacle that this would have been a contest. Bizarre, is all I can say. I’m hearing the VMI contests are being discontinued. York, CNU programs are moving forward. W&L is certainly competitive but is being passed by programs that just 10 years ago couldn’t match up. As more players are being produced at the high school level the number of colleges with the academic chops of W&L has remained static. W&L should be getting a greater share of the athletically talented strong academic lacrosse players that are coming out of all these high school programs. They need a recruiting czar !DeepPocket wrote: ↑Sun Oct 10, 2021 9:33 pm W&L-centric highlights vs SVU
