Maryland or Virginia would be my guess for Millon.
The smart money for Duffy is likely on Duke, but who knows.
Not plugged in enough to the club scene to have good guesses about anyone else really. Hoping Hop is in the mix for Canadians Deere and Banks, among others.

I have never seen a LSM highlight reel that is mostly scoring goals and assists (with a sprinkling of caused turnovers thrown in).

Delgado and Hoffman could end up at Princeton. Highly probable at least one them lands there.

Western Reserve/Ohio native defenseman Aiden Bononyi committed to Ohio State. I think he is the first?
Re: College Predictions For IL Young Guns Top 10 For 2023?
Ty Banks to Yale. IL's top defenseman.
Sirius Lacrosse did not have Yale listed among the teams in its "prediction" section for Banks, so probably best not to pay much attention to those.
EDIT: The tweet reporting the above (I think from NatLaxFed?) appears to have been deleted. May have jumped the gun there or maybe just wanted to let the kid announce it himself.

Does the lacrosse playground site say who is evaluating the players? It's hard to take the site seriously when there seems to be little transparency about how they're evaluating players. Also, the website looks like it's from the late 90's. A google sheet would be better.

This is all I could find:ohmilax34 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 11:50 am Does the lacrosse playground site say who is evaluating the players? It appears to be owned by the same company (Capital Sports Group) that runs the Juniors Open summer tournament. We have an evaluation team consisting of the sports most prominent figures from all over the United States and Canada.
If Banks to Yale pans out then they are already 0/1.

Guessing that chatter is around the defending champs? Hard to find a better system fit, slot right into the Jared Connors role.Laxter wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 2:35 amI’ve heard some chatter. Western Reserve should be a solid pipeline for top recruits.
Dylan Sheridan took over that program, he started up Cleveland
State’s program, Bill Tierney’s son in law.
Kyle Bernlohr and Ben McIntosh came out of
Western Reserve.

well, let's just say that this sort of attraction was what some of us predicted when Lars and crew went to Charlottesville and opened up the field and increased the pace of play...that certain sorts of athletes would eventually be attracted to that system. We didn't expect the early success of the system, but we did think that with a little time we'd see big, fast LSM's, big, hard running the field middies, as well as attackmen who thrived on lots of fast break touches migrate that direction...one thing we noted was that they'd need goalies who thrived when there were lots of shots, even chaos, versus simply being steady in a highly disciplined defensive scheme. That's what Lars and crew were able to put together at Brown and what we thought would eventually get attracted to UVA.BigTom5 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 12:25 pmGuessing that chatter is around the defending champs? Dunno anything about Christmas, but he does look like the prototype for that system. And, BTW, you can have multiple such guys and simply go, go, go.
Re: College Predictions For IL Young Guns Top 10 For 2023?
In the last year or two, Virginia under Lars has not run anywhere nearly as much as Brown did under him. In 2016 when he took Brown to the Final Four, that team was #1 in the country in pace by a WIDE margin. Last season, Virginia was around #25 or so according to Lax Reference. That's still faster than average, but an entirely different animal from Lars' Brown teams. In Lars' first two years at UVA they still were very fast, but slowed considerably since.
That's not to say Christmas isn't a good fit there or won't go there—I have absolutely no idea. He'd likely still fit in there just fine.

This slowed down Lars attack did still produce a LSM who scored 35 career points, was a 2 time first team AA, and won midfielder of the year. Maybe not Larken Kemp level scoring totals but not too shabby.HopFan16 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 01, 2021 1:01 pm In the last year or two, Virginia under Lars has not run anywhere nearly as much as Brown did under him. Lehman to MD. His club team has strong ties to Tills.
I'd be shocked if Millon ended up at MD. I'd heard in the past that he liked PSU, but if I had to guess, I'd pick one of the 3 ACC usuals (UNC, Duke, UVA).

Re: College Predictions For IL Young Guns Top 10 For 2023?
His mom played lacrosse at Maryland, no?
The PSU connection is likely because he's very good family friends with Grant Ament. Not sure that'll be enough to counter the pull of ACC/Ivy/other B1G offers.
I don't see Duke for him. Not many MIAA recruits going there these days. Could definitely see UVA or UNC though. Could see Hopkins being an "also considered."
