Good lacrosse shaft
I'm looking to get a new attack shaft. Previously had a Vandal and now looking to get one of the better shafts out. I'm just looking for other opinions on what's good right now and willing to spend more than $150. With that said, what would y'all recommend?

Re: Good lacrosse shaft
Who are you buying the shaft for? Age drives expense. Older player more skills then spend.
Do not buy something extravagant for a 4th grader, they may hate the sport in a few weeks, then what do you own an expensive stick with nobody using it.
i say that with experience of a son who had many defenseman sticks. Some were not used, and often he just used old reliable.
Enjoy the season

Sportstop and last year's model are my go to. Metal shafts haven't changed drastically in a long while so you can get a prior year shaft that's basically the same as this year's for a lot less. Here's one example:

Everysportforless has similar deals.

Re: Good lacrosse shaft
agree with Hoya - shaft just doesn't matter. Why pay up for it?

Always bought 6 foot pole and cut in half....twofer.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Wow. Showing our age. Shaft does not matter? I suppose you tell your spouse: "Yeah, just wear whatever. In fact we can go to Walmart and you can get two for one on the sale rack." And stay off the grass while you are at it.

Re: Good lacrosse shaft
I always favored a nice oak shaft that left your opponents with fond memories...
Also particularly gratifying when you broke it off on a solid check.
“Warning: Lacrosse is an inherently dangerous contact sport. You are at risk of a crippling injury or even death. Avoid dangerous play - do not use this shaft as a weapon. Shafts may break; the risk increases with improper use. If damaged, cracked, or broken, do not use. This shaft cannot be repaired.”

"There is nothing more difficult and more dangerous to carry through than initiating changes. One makes enemies of those who prospered under the old order, and only lukewarm support from those who would prosper under the new."

Tough Crowd!
Dragonfly makes a good high end shaft. When you get into the high end, the attachment to the stick is more challenging to manage. It really depends why you are using it (flex, weight, etc). Also, going to this level means that you are carting around a $250-$300 stick. Unless you are ultra-skilled, it might be better to invest in a second stick or a custom strung head.
Difficult to describe this stuff without innuendo....

lol, this has taken a strange and funny turn. My point was that the material used in metal lacrosse shafts hasn't changed much since the db803 and original Wonderboy. And those aren't so far removed from Mitsubishi Zeros in World War II*. Much of what you pay for now is inconsequential. The manufacturers make small changes to composition and reposition the material it but in the end, eh?
Don't buy the latest model, the newer one has a different paint job and the last one costs half.
*unless you go full titanium, in which case eBay is your friend.

Haven't bought newlacrosse shaft yet just reading the reviews about east coast dyes lacrosse shaft and ECD lacrosse carbon pro 2.0 Shaft from here https://thepicklesports.com/best-lacrosse-shafts. Previously had a Vandal and now looking to get one of the better shafts out. Money isn't a problem I'm just looking for other opinions on what's good right now.

Re: Good lacrosse shaft
Buy four of the cheapest shafts you can find - and it will still cost less than that super-fancy TiChromAlloyKelvar SUPERSHAFT
You won't even need the extra 3....

Re: Good lacrosse shaft
Carbons break. Not worth the money. Get the lightweight metals.
Re: Good lacrosse shaft
ecd, dragonfly and maverik are the top sellers for youngins.
lot of carbon. have seen an epidemic of broken shafts as noted above, so if there's any physicality involved, be prepared to buy more than one.
advice on last year's model is always a good one.
coming out of a vandal if you'd like to upgrade with metal, stx sc-ti is still the best bet. plus as also mentioned you could by a d pole and have 2 shafts. tougher to impossible to do with carbon.
edit to add: the stx d poles are slightly heavier per inch than attack. competitive weight to carbon w attack shaft, while cutting for 2 make them even more durable. but they don't snap like carbon even with "attack" shafts and have multiple handle shapes.
