As if he hadn’t done so already, Flynn, of late, has really revealed his true colors. He is truly engaging in seditious activity. He is beginning to remind me of that general in Homeland who after being subjected to the strip search in prison is killed by the prison guard. Not wishing that end on Flynn, but from his recent conduct, one thinks Flynn would be willing to lead a violent revolution against the American democracy. Sad. Really sad.
Don't read too much into his recent theatrics. I think he's trolling & triggering. Fear Porn. In his latest, he said "could" not "should". He was speaking hypothetically about a President's powers. He pointed out that martial law has been declared 64 times. He also said he was not advocating that & that we have a constitutional process which must be followed.
It is sad to watch, considering all that he accomplished before his DIA ouster, but I still regard this as political theater (of the absurd).

It wasn’t a waste. So many references to “they” and “people”....he is a conspiracy guy and he is a liar. What else needs to be painted? He has a list of grievances. Re: "The Deep State" aka the American Intelligence Community
He has himself to blame for all of it. He was likely removed from DIA for very good reasons; at least it appears that that certainly could have been the case in retrospect, and given his obvious character flaws. Then "lock her up;" visiting with the Russian Ambassador without authorization from the lawful government; lying about it and making himself a potential mark for Russian intelligence; hiring Powell; adopting QAnon as his troll. And now calling for martial law to be declared by his benefactor and pardon-giver. He's a disgrace. You're making excuses for him like he is a misbehaving middle schooler who'll turn out alright.old salt wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 7:14 pmNo question. Flynn has changed. FTR -- here's what Flynn actually said :
Within the swing states, if he wanted to, he could take military capabilities, and he could place those in states and basically rerun an election in each of those states.
I mean, it's not unprecedented. These people are out there talking about martial law like it's something that we've never done. Martial law has been instituted 64 times. I'm not calling for that.
We have a constitutional process. We clearly have a constitutional process. That has to be followed.

That you continue to defend and make excuses for this wacko is simply stunning. No wonder he was canned from DIA and convicted for lying to the FBI. How nice of you to be against invoking martial law yet not taking to task those that spout off about it. He's at the WH today along with the Kraken doofus. Rudy Colludy wants DHS to impound voting machines.
Not for nothing but the last election followed constitutional and state law but you don't have to believe me - reference to 60+ legal submissions that were denied or tossed by both state and federal courts including two at SCOTUS.
Are you also supportive to the clown show circus being planned for January 6 in Congress?

Exactly...I don't see how Salty thinks that's not a quite clear advocacy for Trump("he") declaring martial law and rerunning the election...Flynn then explains that martial law has been done many times and that it is "a constitutional process".RedFromMI wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 9:24 amYeah - those disclaimers really mean he is not advocating for martial law...NOT.Kismet wrote: ↑Sat Dec 19, 2020 7:09 amWhy quibble about a traitor? That's an absolutely outrageous piece of logic...NO POTUS has ever declared martial law in order to overturn an election. NEVER and it's definitely not "constitutional" in the USA.
And yes, the actual Constitutional process of having an election and challenging an election has already been done.
Flynn is advocating for a military enforced dictatorship.
Re: "The Deep State" aka the American Intelligence Community
Flynn also said that T**** could (yes, he said could, not should) seize voting machines. No, he can’t. At least he can’t do so legally.
As to Flynn’s comment that martial law has been declared numerous times in the past in the United States, I don’t know about 64 times, but it has never been declared by a president in a presidential election in several swing states for the purpose of redoing an election he lost. It is preposterous, and dangerous, to even mention such a possibility, even if he was smart enough to throw in “I’m not calling for that” at the end.

Re: "The Deep State" aka the American Intelligence Community
ok gents -- back up your claims with predictions.
What date do you predict Trump will declare martial law ?
Which military officer(s) will be responsible for carrying out the order ?
Will they comply, if so ordered ?
Tell us how you see this playing out.

OK, I’ll play (for fun).
January 6, after he gets shot down by Congress.
Don’t know names, but some of them will be from Texas.
Some will.
Badly for T**** and anyone who follows his “orders.”

Re: "The Deep State" aka the American Intelligence Community
Actually, I see Trump as essentially a toothless bully who will chicken out (all hat and no cattle). The real danger is that I understand from my news sources that Trump actually thinks he won and the people he likes to surround himself with don't have those same fears. (Flynn, Powell, Giuliani to name three). Also Lin Wood and the My Pillow guy, for example.
If he listens to them instead of some of the others, we could be in for a wild ride - especially since Pence is blowing town immediately after the January 6 vote.

Nothing to see here ...move along.
Officials increasingly alarmed about Trump’s power grab

"People who are concerned and nervous aren’t the weak-kneed bureaucrats that we loathe," the official added. "These are people who have endured arguably more insanity and mayhem than any administration officials in history."
25th Amendment, anyone? It's not too late.

Re: "The Deep State" aka the American Intelligence Community
How would T****’s invocation of martial law lead to his continuing to be president after Jan. 20?
Answer: it couldn’t possibly. The electoral college has voted. Congress, legally, has no power to overturn the electoral college results this year, notwithstanding all of the stuff and nonsense a couple of Republicans are talking about.
If there were a legitimate dispute about competing slates of electors, then Congress on January 6 could vote as to which slates to accept. But there is no legitimate dispute. Hence, there is no legal basis for Congress to accept any slates other than those who voted on December 14.
Now I understand that a few grandstanders will try to force Congress to go through the time-wasting exercise of “debating” whether to “accept” the electors who actually voted, but there is zero chance that will get anywhere.
So after Congress has acted on January 6, T**** is going to declare martial law to do what?
I’ll toss the ball back to you. How will that play out to the end that T**** remains in office?
Constitutionally, he becomes a private citizen at noon on January 20. Biden becomes president even if T**** tries to have a phony “swearing in” somewhere else.
If he keeps playing “martial law” games after that, he will be arrested, incarcerated, tried, convicted, and incarcerated again. There will be huge popular support for putting the seditious scoundrel in jail. In fact, some substantial segment of the population would call for his execution.
