Restaurants, bars, gyms, churches.

All places where groups of people are forcefully respirating -- everyone talking or shouting loud over noise, everyone breathing hard due to exertion, singing in unison, saying prayers out loud in unison.

Much riskier than, say, sitting quietly in a movie theater and just breathing through your nose.

One positive thing about the Pandemic?

Entrepreneurship is WAY up. Just read a piece that Denver is up 20% over last year in pulled permits/documents for startups.

Glass half full.

I guess this kind of fits in the Covid thread.

Since this is about the most 2020 way to lose your job.

Zoom call gone very wrong:

The New Yorker magazine fired legal writer Jeffrey Toobin after he exposed himself during a Zoom call with employees of the magazine and WNYC radio. The call was held to discuss a future episode of a podcast that The New Yorker and the public radio station produce. During breakout discussions, Mr. Toobin switched to a second call that was the video-call equivalent of phone sex.

“I made an embarrassingly stupid mistake, believing I was off camera,” Mr. Toobin said last month. “I apologize to my wife, family, friends and co-workers.”

That vaccine can't come soon enough.

Strangely, this incident happened over 3 weeks ago.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

Flipped through "Patriot" Radio on Sirius XM and Fox during morning drive-time today.

It's just amazing the amount of partisan misinformation, irresponsible DISinformation and flat out rancor that gets spewed out into the body politic each and every minute on American airways.

John Nolte, on Patriot Channel 125:

"There is no evidence that lockdowns reduce cases." "There is no evidence that masks reduce cases."

This after a (clearly partisan wingnut) caller was going on in a sad, very worried way about how SHE had Covid and it wasn't so bad...but she brought it home to her husband, who is now intubated and may not make it. Nolte listened quietly til she got off the phone; he wished her well and then launched into just outright MOCKERY of efforts being made (by some) to address the alarming rise in the illness which has paralyzed large portions of the nation these past several months...

Just reprehensible behavior...

This 2nd wave of the virus is making Biden's contention that it was Trump's fault look pretty ridiculous. :

Not sure there is any logic present in that statement. The point is because we did not do enough to beat down the numbers to very low, we now have a completely widespread pandemic that is at this point out of control.

Abdication by Trump for leading an effective response remains a huge contribution to the problem, and the fact that the feds have not actually solved some of the PPE supply problem likely means this winter will be horrible for COVID cases/deaths.

And as far as anyone can tell, the coronavirus task force is not even meeting anymore...

I cannot call trusting in the truth being hoodwinked. You are projecting because of cognitive dissonance, perhaps.

But then those of us who at least have some idea of the truth have other sources that confirm them (such as the actual numbers being put out by state health departments which show that the situation is _rapidly_ deteriorating to a level likely to be _worse_ than what happened in the spring in places like Detroit, LA, NYC...
