Presume you are close to him, have been back up in Broome Co a lot this year for family reasons and wondered if he’s part of the family that has all the gas stations in the region. Any chance of you know about that? Just a curiousity.

Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

McCarthy to UNC. I imagine we're done now with the possibility of Goonan. No idea if either side is interested but he'd be a guy that could contribute in a lot of different ways and he'll be at Georgetown next year in grad school.

I think the dilemma when you look at Goonan is - are you sure he would contribute? Gtown pretty much returns their entire starting defense and adds a couple top 50 recruits to the mix on D (one being a 5 star). Seems to me they have been pretty selective with who they’ve gone after. McCarthy would have been nice, but looks like they’ve tried to avoid the situation of adding a 5th year who isn’t guaranteed to play. That’s a sign of a promising culture to me.
Re: Georgetown 2020
Definitely a sign of a good culture and a coaching staff that likes the guys we have. All of this is purely speculative offseason chatter. He'll be at Georgetown and he played lacrosse. That doesn't mean he'll play lacrosse at Georgetown.FlyEaglesFly wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 10:33 pm I think the dilemma when you look at Goonan is - are you sure he would contribute? Goonan played close D, LSM, and took about 170 face offs. I imagine he could play SSDM as well but I only watch Michigan lacrosse by accident so I don't know. Do we think at any point next season we could use a 5th year guy who had been a major contributor at a D1 school in any of those spots? No idea. I do think we'll have a fantastic defense next year just the way it is.

https://twitter.com/laxreference/status ... 0635069440 With virtually all coming back on the close defense and poles/SSD this stat could get even better in 2021.

These guys can run with anyone. Under appreciated. Defense is as good as it gets. Offense with new Colgate kid makes team even better. Team will be there in the end next year.
Re: Georgetown 2020
Facility long time coming and great for many sports on many fronts. Ironic that we started this during the financial crisis and finished finally during a global pandemic. I know for lacrosse this is a big deal. Can finally host the BET.

Looks really nice. Curious why there are permanent locker rooms for FB and FH, but not for lacrosse - do they practice somewhere else?CC10 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 6:50 pm a long time in the making, looks great....

Re: Georgetown 2020
The permanent locker room in JTC is fantastic and has trainers room attached. So just game day lockers for lacrosse works very well.
Re: Georgetown 2020
Yep - facilities are a huge deal. It show commitment to the athletics program and frankly it's nice to play on a beautiful field, in a beautiful stadium, with new amenities.
I'm also very much in line with Comeonman in my thinking. The returning team looks great and is only going to get better with this good group of young players. Some teams that raided the 5th years will start faster but we're going to finish as the team no one wants to face in the NCAA tournament.

Great job by all the MLL Hoyas. Dan Bucaro had a great weekend and Aslanian had the hit of the weekend.

Playing in the championship at 2pm today. The Bayhawks and Hammerheads are not participating due to Covid. Tough end to a fun "season".HGK25 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 20, 2020 6:41 am Great job by all the MLL Hoyas. Dan Bucaro had a great weekend and Aslanian had the hit of the weekend.

Pretty impressive and another reminder that bringing in a lot of 5th year guys could have disrupted a great long-term recruiting plan.

From Quint Kessenich on the National High School Lacrosse Showcase (2021 recruit):
"I thought the work that goalie Michael Scharfenberger (Georgetown) did outside of the crease — scooping groundballs and throwing aggressive and accurate clearing passes — was notable."
