Re: Transfer Portal 2025
DIII RIT : Mike Grace (D) -> Syracuse Heard Trucksess from Dickinson to Hopkins Interesting, will serve for good FO depth. Hopkins needs elite FO play however. Trucksess went to Haverford. Was 56-100 with 35 GBs in 2023. 52-95 with 29 GBs this season. Junior. Dunn has been 53-124 with 35 GBs so far.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Incoming 4* Goalie Andrew Cook is no slouch. Don’t always need a grad transfer.

The good news—if Jays make it that far—they won’t have to fly to Towson.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Agree that the stands were packed with students and the atmosphere was electric. Anytime you beat a Tillman coached team is a great win. Period. Wheels shared the metrics for a Maryland win: 1. 50% plus goaltending. Terps were 61%. 2. 60% face offs. Maryland hit that number exactly. 3. Less than 15 ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
In the 2 games last year, Dunn went 15-24 against Wierman. FOGOs are all about match ups, and it looks like Dunn's style/technique/etc causes Wierman problems. Statistically, Maryland's defense this year is much better than last year (5th in adj def efficiency this year compared to 19th last year.....

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
No one can accuse the Jays of peaking too early. They have not had a dominant outing this season. Partly, because the FOs have been spotty and the shooting inconsistent.
That could make Hop a dangerous team come tournament time, if Collison et al assert themselves for both halves.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
One of six GBs for Degnon, 29 for the season.
What about his incredible play that turned a CT into a goal to get Hopkins off the mat and make it 7-3.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
I think, re: Collison, the calculus is a bit different early in games vs at the end of games (especially when trailing). Obviuously, he's a guy that you can iso anytime you want, but doing it too early in games risks other guys not getting involved in the offense or on track. Peshko has a knack for...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Hopkins is now 4-0 in Big Ten. Only teams to go undefeated in BIG play in a season are 2016 Maryland, 2019 Penn State, 2021 Maryland (10-0), and 2022 Maryland. All of those teams made the Final Four.
Excited to see if the Jays can complete 5-0 vs Terps next weekend.

Mike Bloomberg met with the team at Cordish after the Penn State win. Ronny D with a guest appearance. https://www.instagram.com/p/C5g9c78JVgT/?img_index=1 If he wants to earmark half a billion for the program, I wouldn't mind With his current net worth of 106.2 billion, 1/2 billion is practically ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Sunday morning thoughts: - Both goalies were truly outstanding - did think Hopkins was trying to be too perfect and just not shooting in the first half - essentially same number of face-offs/saves/groundballs and they had 5 more turnovers and PSU ends up with 9 more shots? Maybe one of the few true...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Great game. Only nit from my POV was the team was playing not to lose vs playing to win (with about 2 minutes left, they stalled that possession and did not generate any type of offense) during second to last possession of regulation when they were up by 1. I get that's what QK was saying - but I d...

“No. 5 Penn State (7-2, 1-1) at No. 6 Johns Hopkins (7-3, 2-0) - Saturday 2 p.m. (ESPNU) With starting defensemen Jack Posey and Kevin Parnham out due to injuries, the Nittany Lions can ill afford the kind of possession imbalance they faced last week when they lost seven of eight fourth-quarter face...

Jays win at Rutgers for only the second time (2-6).
Melendez was clutch when Rutgers had all the momentum.

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
Agree. Whether it is fatigue, injuries or pressure, Hopkins play has regressed since the Virginia win. Even in Fall ball vs. Richmond, Jays played cleaner lacrosse. I see breakdowns all over the field—wing and GB play, close and transition defense, attack and midfield offense. In their defense, the ...

Re: Johns Hopkins 2024
There's clearly some issues here - specifically to this game and longer term. I feel - despite the loss last week - they might have looked at the Towson and Penn State scores and then went up 6-1 and said - done and done. All of the sudden I am seeing Carson Brown and Cam Chauvette in the first hal...
